New Rainbow Six Vegas 2 trailer released

360 News | Are you ready to save Sin City ... for a second time?
Just before Christmas, Ubisoft spilt some new details on their upcoming first-person shooter, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2. In anticipation of the game's release this March on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, the French publisher has just released a new video, showing Team Rainbow in the line of fire.

In the trailer, you may notice Michael Walter and Jung Park – the backup from the first Rainbow Six Vegas – in action again. Game Designer Philippe Therien has shed some light on the situation while speaking with CVG. After creating their character, known only in the game by the name of Bishop, players will again be supported by Walter and Park, because previous team leader Logan Keller is being ambushed in Mexico.

Therien also details that Vegas 2 begins five years before the events of the first game, and how this ties in with the original's cliffhanger ending. "Our story defines a whole new conflict that will have a profound effect on the events of Rainbow Six: Vegas and its sequel. The first mission is set in the past, and you'll get to understand why Gabriel turns traitor. Then you'll see what happens while the original team is in Mexico. You'll finally go beyond the original timeline and see what happens after Gabriel escapes the crash," he explains.

As for the ending, Thrien says that there won't be another cliffhanger this time. "Don't worry. The sequel has a very satisfying ending. We're closing the story with a bang."

The trailer looks pretty good! I'm still yet to play the first game however.

That Ubisoft website is horrid with it's screaming Rabids on mouse-over..

Why bother with a pre-rendered video for a game that will probably look damn similar to the previous one? It's not as if they're grabbing us with a new design concept. I know the original R6:V pre-rendered video was awesome but it seems for a sequel that a basic upgrade to continue the story why bother?. I'd like to see what the game ACTUALLY looks like to make sure it's gotten the facelift it needs to compete with the current crop!

Hopefully they fix the blurriness the first one had. It was so hard finding the baddies sometimes by not being able to discern them from the background.
