Been reading Sherlock Holmes on the train ride to uni, I've no idea why I haven't started reading this much earlier. Great stuff.

I've been reading "The Big Book of Basketball" by The Sports Guy, Bill Simmons. He's a writer on ESPNs Page 2 and it's sort of a collection of his articles as well as new material where he basically talks about the history of the NBA. There's a great section of 'What Ifs' which is really interesting to think about and he also tries to rank his top players through out the years and gives justifications as to why they are where they are in his pyramid of players. I'm about 4/5 through and it's been a pretty good read so far.

Going to give Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance a whirl.

Seems interesting so far, but CA study has been limiting my free time. Hopefully the recommendations I've heard lead to good things!

read this a few years ago and discovered he had written 2 more books so I ordered them from book depository...

this came in first and i finished it last week

and now I'm 3/4s of the way through this...

nice reprieve from my uni books : great expectations, the turn of the screw, the hours, mrs dalloway, the illiad and antigone...

I can't believe I read Have A Nice Day almost ten years ago. Holy shit time flies. I remember talking about it endlessly to my wrestling mates at school, then lending them the book. It's probably the best wrestling autobiography.

Mick has also written a few fiction books, most noticeably Tietam Brown. It's not a masterpiece by any means, but it's an enjoyable read. It's quite dark.

yeah i bought tietam brown when it was released. such a strange yet intriguing read.
i bought have a nice day in hardcover close to release and really enjoyed it, couldnt tell you how long ago it was.

it's up there with marilyn manson's autobiography for sheer entertainment value, whether you are a fan of the individual or not

I'm not reading this but was wondering if anyone is.

It's only just popped up on my radar after hearing that Frank Darabont was adapting it into a TV series. I'm thinking if Mr Shawshank finds something worthwhile about it, it must be worth checking out right?

I've been on a graphic novel binge recently so I was looking for a new series to sink my teeth into. All I wanted to know is whether this one is any good (or not). I'm kinding hoping it is giving that I just placed an order for the first 5 volumes... I'm hoping not to regret this.

I've got the first 5 (actually, bought them as they came out, then just stopped for some reason...)

It's a fantastic story of a zombie apocalypse, about the struggles of a group of people who band together.

You won't regret it!

The Walking Dead is certainly in the top three of all comic series from the past decade. No doubt.

Also highly recommend Fables and Y: The Last Man.

Thanks to the lovely Obsolete, I started reading Scott Orson Card's Ender's Game.

Absolutely loving it, about two thirds of the way through, and it had me from the opening chapter. Not predictable at all either.

Trade Paper Backs/Graphic Novels can be interchanged. As the great Alan Moore once said "It's a marketing term ... that I never had any sympathy with. The term 'comic' does just as well for me. ... The problem is that 'graphic novel' just came to mean 'expensive comic book' and so what you'd get is people like DC Comics or Marvel Comics — because 'graphic novels' were getting some attention, they'd stick six issues of whatever worthless piece of crap they happened to be publishing lately under a glossy cover and call it The She-Hulk Graphic Novel...."

I am currently reading a couple of books. Magicians Apprentice is the one I am still finishing but I am aching to re-read the Hunger Games as it was a really good novel. I am just glad that I jumped on the series reasonably late so there is not a massive wait for the last novel next month.
