I read the first one 'tomorrow when the war began, but that was for school and I didn't read any of the others.
Although it was a pretty good book!

You should read them. I think the second one is called 'on the other side of dawn' but i could be wrong. IMO, the best teen series ever written _________________

well, i finished book 6 of The Dark Tower series, so now i need to wait for book 7 to be released in standard paperback size. i refuse to buy hardcover, or trade-paperback books.
but thankfully, the day i finished the book, my Amazon.com order arrived, and so now i'm reading book 3 of The War on the Ancients trilogy based in the World of Warcraft (The Sundering). i loved the first 2 books, and i'm keen to see how it all finishes. _________________

bumpity bump.
well, Book 7 of Steven King's The Dark Tower series was released last week and so i am currently reading it. it's been a long time since i was this excited to get a book, hopefully it lives up to the rest of the series (i'm 100 pages in and it's been pretty good).
after this, i think i might try get the Concordance books he also had released. for those who haven't read the series, King himself becomes integral to the story, and many of his other books become paralleled in it as well, in addition to events in the real world, like when he was hit by that car (except he dies in the books). but i'm not really a fan of many of King's other works, so i'm guessing the concordance books will allow me to appreciate the stories all the more. _________________

Mark Waugh's biography. I got it for Christmas and I'm about halfway through. Good read so far, as I much prefer Mark to his twin. _________________

My brother has been reading that series (Dark Tower) too and has been raving about it so I think I should definitely give it a shot.
What am I reading at the moment? Well it's a captivating insight into the psyche of the common gamer. It delves into their inner most trains of thought and allows readers to go on a journey that covers just about every aspect of gaming you could imagine. Facinating reading if I do say so... _________________

Planning on reading Surviving Year 12 by Dr Carr-Gregg to see what I did wrong last year

Just before coming on I read Matin Luther King Jr's "I Have a Dream" essay. Interesting read, considering reading it was forced as holiday reading it was very good.
Still haven't finished Harry Potter either, but I have more holiday reading so no luck for Harry. _________________

^lol having some problems at work, i see.
We recently were throwing out stuff from our garage, and I salvaged a dozen decent looking novels. The one I chose to read first is "Survive!", which is about a group of people crashing into the Andes Mountain Ranges, and the survivors having to eat the dead.
The other's I can remember are Robinson Crusoe, and Red Phoenix.

^ that Survive was made into a film a few years ago (like 10-15) called Alive, it was the Argentinean (i think) soccer team that crashes.

the book is about a Uruguayan Rugby team. not sure if you mistook them or the movie is different.
p.s. i would happily eat you...on the condition you were shaved and beer battered.

Just finished The Da Vinci Code, only took about 7-8 hours. Not a bad read, not a good book for night-time reading though, you get sucked in.

it was so long since i've seen the film, i was just going by memory. i'm sure it is the same story since i don't think there have been many soccer teams forced to eat eachother (well, the dead) to survive after a plane crash.
still reading book 7 of The Dark Tower. it's really trippy at the moment, a few books ago, Stephen King made himself a character in the series and started tying his other stories into this one (Salems Lot, for example), and it's becoming really weird, but in a good way.
i couldn't get into The Davinci Code. i just found it really bad. not from a religious POV or anything like that, just a badly written book. i might try it again given how popular it's become, i was reviewing it for a library when i first started it. _________________

I "failed" Year 12 English, so I guess that's why it doesn't bother me
Possible Spoiler: The start is kind of boring, but then it picks up quickly and there are about a trillion plot twists that make you think one thing then smack you something completely different.

'A Hat Full of Sky' by Terry Pratchett.
Direct sequel to 'The Wee Free Men', which is a bit different to the usual Discworld books. _________________

those books were pretty good, although i don't really get how you mean they're different. younger characters i suppose, but still the same style IMO.
i need to go borrow Thud! sometime soon. _________________
