not making memory cards compatible is going to be a huge nuisance... surely 1 slot could be incorporated on the back of the console to allow us to transfer data from the cards to the new sticks...
gg Sony... what's the point of being backwards compatible if you can't play your old games from where you left off...
and damn... i was looking forwards to not using the Batarangs... _________________

Yes it does bugger up the backwards compatibility concept.
Some smart cookie will work it out on how to transfer save games.
Not being able to use PS2 controllers and peripherals doesn't bother me too much. I suspect there will be a better higher resolution eye toy camera. Although I can understand for most people not being able to use the dance mats and microphones might peeve them off if you have to buy them all over again.
The PS3 supposedly has 6 USB ports so you never know.

I just hope my Driving Force Pro works with the PS3, it doesn't use a controller port, it uses the USB so I guess there's hope for that. _________________
