So uh... this is a thing that's happening.

Alan Moore predictably is not a fan, but he's a cranky old hypocritical son of a bitch so his opinion basically means nothing.

The guys they've got lined up for it is kind of fucking amazing though.

•Comedian by Azzarello and artist J.G. Jones
•Minutemen by writer/artist Darwyn Cooke
•Silk Spectre by Cooke and artist Amanda Conner
•Nite Owl by writer J. Michael Straczynski and artists Joe and Andy Kubert
•Dr. Manhattan by Straczynski and artist J.G. Jones
•Ozymandias by writer and original Watchmen editor Len Wein with art by Jae Lee

Are you looking at that? Minutemen drawn and written by Darwyn Cooke? Fuck yes I'm all over that.

I've got a geek boner for J. Michael Straczynski (B5 for life, yo!) so my reaction the other day went from "Uh, okay?" to "MUST BUY AT LEAST THOSE." Will probably buy them all for completeness though.

Better be no space squids.

Azzarello for Rorschach is a pretty good fit since he can definitely take it to that dark place it's bound to go.

All in all I really don't know what to think of all of this. I guess I'll reserve judgement for when I read them.

I read the first issue of Minutemen, it's just fantastic. Cooke seems to really respect the characters. I hope the rest of the series remains at this quality.
