The terrible, cringe worthy "I god I'm embarrassed to be associated with this hobby" Video Game Awards are coming up, on the 10th of December to be exact.

On one hand, may god have mercy on us all. On the other, new games will be shown, so yay for that. Usually the announcements are just CGI trailers and other such crap, as this is a show made to appeal to the dudebro mass market, but hey, they're better than nothing.

This year the following is confirmed for an appearance of some sort;
- Metal Gear Rising re-reveal
- Alan Wake XBLA
- BioWare's new IP, from their new studio

For reference, last year the following were shown/announced for the first time;
Batman: Arkham City
Skyrim
Uncharted 3
Mass Effect 3
Resistance 3
SSX
Forza 4
Prototype 2
inSANE
Kratos In Mortal Kombat

Cunt of a show (can't think of many award shows for anything that aren't cunts, though), but I'll allow myself some giddy school girl giggles for MGS and new Bioware stuff.

BioWare's 'new IP' is likely Command & Conquer: Generals 2 by their sub studio Victory Games, and seems to be directed by one JVC, with word stating PC exclusive. Here's a couple of snaps.

Geoff Keighley seems to be implying that this isn't the big Sony exclusive. I still think this will reveal around that same time, but there might be something else.

1.) Metal Gears Solid: Rising
2.) BioShock Infinite

4.) Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron
5.) "BioWare's New Franchise" (Best Guess: C&C: Generals 2)

I could be making things up, but I'm pretty sure Epic has spoken of interest in shifting multiplayer centric games to FTP models. I wouldn't be surprised if a new UT, when it comes, was FTP.

That would be pretty excellent considering we already have Quake Live and Tribes Ascend. UT would complete the skill based trifecta.

Perhaps the announcement is based around the Samaritan tech demo they showed off. The art assets they had in there seemed very polished so definitely could be in the works. And hell prior to the announcement of Gears of War they had UE3 tech demos going off with monster designs such as the Brumak that were in Gears.

I think there done with Gears. I think it's going to be a game based off the tech demo footage they released a while a go so expect a dark street and rain. I'm happy about Generals 2 as that is my 2nd favorite C&C game behind Red Alert 2 but Bioware has just become a synonym with EA at this point. It might have a dialogue system but it won't be a Bioware game.

Lawl. Loving the internet exploding with bawwing crybaby Metal Gear fans who cant get over a non-serious game taking itself...not seriously, versus the laughable cheesey and over serious trainwreck that was Metal Gear 4. Hideo is probably proud as hell as a competent developer is now actually making the game, rather than it being stuck in development hell forever at KojiPro.

Calling others crybabies for saying they don't like a game? It doesn't matter what franchise the game is from, the trailer looks terrible.

It might as well be a Metal Gear version of Fruit Ninja and be released on iPad.
