ok so obviously these things they're fighting aren't zombies.

But uh, any fucking clue what this is?

it almost looks like some kind of fungus has infected its head. It also seems to have gotten rid of most of the skull too.

There were teasers about bullet ants and some sort of fungus that infects the ants. I think perhaps this is some sort of fictional mutation of the fungus that affects humans? Looks a lot like a zombie to me though.

I'm hoping the fungus infection actually serves some kind of purpose like cordyceps does and isn't just "MAKES PEOPLE CRAZY RARR". Having a more 'scientific' backing for why the fungus causes people to go loco would be really cool.

Otherwise I'm down, but I'm intrigued to see how this plays and differentiates itself from Uncharted. Seems like there's a media day in the US on their Monday, so we should get new press material then.
