Hi all!
Over the past 7 months, my brother and I have been trying our hand at making an iOS game. We thought a trivia game would be a good way to start. We thought it was going to be simple! It still took 7 months!! We've done all our own game design, programming, art, graphics, sound, music, writing and researching (and marketing!).
We're pretty close to finishing now, just tidying code and getting things right.
The game is called sQuiz: Reel Trivia. It's a movie trivia game and we've packed it with questions about everyone's favourite movies. We looked at trivia games on the app store and most of them were pretty clunky and shallow. Many of the games were just a copy of a database with some actors, actresses and directors and asked really generic questions about the game. None of them actually tested you on what you saw when you watched the movie! Then there were the high quality trivia apps, but a lot of them made you pay for more questions and didn't have many questions to begin with.
