Oh yeah, I definitely think that the classic games should come in compilations. That said, I know I'll still get Final Fantasy X HD. They really should include X-2 on the disc as well though. _________________

If the move industry didn't do re-releases I wouldn't have a blu-ray pack of every Nightmare on Elm st movie... so keep going I say. _________________

To the newbies yes. Veterans will own this. I made DMD my bitch more than half a decade ago.
Though I'm really not looking forward to the chess piece battle in DMC3 on DMD again. Fuck everything about that. _________________

Is it better or worse then the dice boardgame bit in 4? (3 is the only one I've never played) _________________

It's better, as in you actually are in the middle of a huge chessboard where black and white are fighting each other, but they attack you as well. It's really good but a pain in the arse on DMD. _________________

Fair enough, but don't get caught in the trap of thinking that a bluray release always means better quality video and/or audio. I've read reviews of this set, and apparently the first movie has a great transfer and the rest have pretty good ones, so it worked this time. Some films get straight DVD ports though.
And yeah, no problem with me if game studios keep pumping out just as many new games and IPs as they always did... except they don't. I just hope it doesn't get worse. _________________

I don't mind re-makes and compilations if the updates are worthwhile, the compilation priced accordingly, and the games themselves good, especially if I haven't played them. I'm a firm believer that while graphical processing naturally gets better with time, games themselves, as a complete piece of entertainment, can remain relevant and enjoyable regardless of age. The best games remain great even decades later.
That being said, the last year or so has been primed with developers really milking the whole re-release thing, especially HD ports. I suspect this is because many teams have moved, or are beginning to move, over to developing games for next generation, and these packages work as nice filler material for the publisher to release between their bigger games. It's a bit annoying, especially from the likes of Nintendo, who price this stuff way too high (digital store here. OoT3D rocks, as does Star Fox 3D).
As for this package, I don't think I'll bite. DMC and DMC3 own, but DMC2 sucks, and I'd be happier just replaying Bayonetta endlessly. _________________

Yeah that's what stopped me picking up the Die Hard blu-ray set. If I'd allready owned all of the Nigthmare movies on DVD I wouldn't have bothered but all I had was pirate download versions. That and I'm a special features junky and the set is fucking loaded. _________________

I'll admit it, I may not have read the article. I was just looking for somewhere to post them. _________________

I'll forgive you if only cause he went back and added them after the article was published and we'd already been talking about it. _________________
