Thanks for the review. Will be looking at picking this up in the future when it's a little cheaper _________________

I have to disagree with you on some of the platforming stuff. I've found the platforming fucking horrible.
The combat is reasonable and all but the platforming is just woefull. After playing more after my write up in the what are you playing thread the platforming has just gotten worse. I gave up playing last night after the 20th time I died on the same segment because every time you jump the camera pans up to follow you and you can't see what platform you're supposed to land on. I've encountered invisible walls when I've used the Gale to dash over platforms to skip them and land on the next land mass causing me to die because I realised that the gales air dash can cover enough ground to make a jump that the developers didn't realize (Or did and they really don't want you to go there without landing on the platform) And the whole thing in the 2D areas where if you fall too far down you die even if you land on a platform is fucking absurd.
| Quote: | | The rock/scissor/paper battle mechanics remain just that for the entirety of the game (boss battles aside), and though enemies are rehashed with new looks, more health, and a couple of new abilities, the core battle formula fails to evolve or develop throughout the course of the game. |
To be fair they do change up later after | Spoilers wrote: | | You go into the darkness area and play as the dancing angel dude the game has dropped the whole weapon mechanic |
Also while this post is pretty overwhelmingly negative. I'm still going to jump back on it as soon as I get home today.
Not actually sure if I'm enjoying it though. _________________

I look at the screenshots and I want to like this game... but I'm afraid... and Benza has cemented that fear.

I didn't have the problems Benza had with the platforming. No camera issues, nor difficulty spikes or anything. The collision detection is a bit off, but I'd call the platforming too easy before hard and clumsy or anything.
There's a demo if you'd like to try before you buy. It should give you a very good idea of what to expect. _________________

Honestly i'd still recomend it.
It's a flawed gamed don't get me wrong. But it has some great ideas and the presentation is simply unmatched. It actually reminds me a lot of Suda 51's games. Incredibly unique with amazing concepts but flawed execution. So I guess, if you enjoyed his games I'd say still grab it. _________________
