Alright with the release of CS5, for those who have tried the trial or bought the full version, whats your opinion?
Im enjoying the layout for touching up photos, however the content aware is killing photography. Im sure everyone will disagree, but now anyone can whip up their shot, cut out everything leaving key subjects and leave everyone amazed on the net, without using any editing skill at all.

I think you raise a valid point, sure, every man and his dog can whip up awesome effects and what not especially with the new content aware features, but at the same time, I think its a good thing for everyone involved. Yes, its user friendly, but you still need skill and what not to produce pictures that really get a WOW out of people.
Why should the realm of photoshop be restricted to enthusiasts and people prepared to sit down for hours of tutorials?
And no, I haven't tried it out. I've watched several youtube videos from the guys at adobe and the stuff they've put out in cs5 is awesome and a half. _________________

I haven't tried cs5 yet, but I saw the videos for it a few months ago. After using photoshop 7 for the last 5 or so years, I thought I'd move up to cs4 to get myself up-to-date with how the current versions work and I found the difference in interface to be very minimal. I'm guessing it'd be a similar case with the difference between cs2 and 5.
I think the content aware fill thing is a great idea. I'll probably use it most with desktop wallpapers, converting 4:3 ratio images to widescreen by adding to the edges instead of cropping from the top/bottom. It doesn't bother me what other people do with it, I only care that it'll make certain tasks easier for me and save me a bit of time.
Also, the more noob-friendly image editing software is, the less crap we have to do for mums dads aunts and uncles. Everybody wins!

I'm not able to use CS5. It's only able to be used on Mac's with Intel processors... I have Power PC. _________________

I'm like Shadowwave, I've been working in CS2 for about 400 years.
I did however throw CS5 on last night. Mainly for the extra stitching power. I haven't used it enough to pass judgement yet.
I did notice that the magnetic laso tool seems to be a bit smarter though which is quite helpful. _________________ Worst. Signature. Ever.

The content aware fill isn't really as good as it seemed in those preview videos. It's more like random clone stamping in the 3 images I've tried it with so far.
