awesome and a half! I remember playing the crap out of the first 1, still trying to find a copy of it but no one seems to sell the bigbytes version of it anymore.. _________________

I am interested in this game purely because the sci fi direction reminds me of a sierra/dynamix game many moons ago on PC called "Rise of the Dragon" Do I need to play the others to get into this new game or can I jump right in on this one? _________________

After watching the trailer I just might have to get around to buying the first game on Steam. I first played it years and years ago but never finished it, I just remember getting stuck somewhere and giving up on it.
Anyway that trailer looked excellent, hopefully the gameplay is solid. _________________

Yeah, I want more gameplay details. The trailer is nice and all, but I want some tasty FPS/RPG action going on.

I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be a prequel to the first, so story wise it should be fine.
Gameplay-wise though, if you play this and then go play the first, you might bork a bit at the graphics. Compared to today's pretties, it be ugly. Real ugleh. Gameplay totally makes up for it though. _________________

Looks nice. I hope they go with the more complicated gameplay of the original over the pretty but vacuous style of the second. We need nitty and gritty =) _________________

It will be interesting to see how it turns out. My expectations are very very low considering how crap Dues Ex 2 was. _________________

Now now, Deus Ex 2 wasn't a bad game. I liked it, it just wasn't like the original. Too much of an RPG-lite _________________

i wanted to say that i really did - but the PC version was just ugly for its time and a system bog , if youv never played the first or no what to expect then its alright but if you compare the 2 there complety different games. _________________

I didn't play the original, I was only a console gamer then. I agree with why it's not liked, but it isn't like it's a glitchy, massively flawed game. _________________

If anyone here hasn't played the original Deus ex, you need to get of your ass and play it! Dated graphics aside it still stands up as one of the best games of all time, as for invisible war i agree it was no where near as good as the original but still deserves to be played its a great game in its own right but just pales in comparison to the first. Do you need to play the first two before 3 comes out "no" should you "HELL YES".

Those images don't give me faith in the title at all. About the only thing it's got going for it is it LOOKS as bad as the first one did. I'm going to read the IGN preview though and see what they have to say.
Edit: And after reading said preview there is but one thing to say... you win this round Eidos Montreal. Oh and I am excited at the "stun" option. I would love an achievement for completing the game without killing a single person. I still freaking hate the regenerative health though.

Game sounds good, the images seem to be mash up concept arts, even the "ingame ones".
My trained eyes tell me they are a render of an environment, with a weapon render (with no Anti-Aliasing), overlayed on top, and details like special effects, characters and small props painted on. They're just conceptual. _________________

GUYS
SORT OF GAMEPLAY TRAILER
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfvO0h5e8h8
(I fail at the embed bbcode)
So, uh, yeah.
Flashes of gameplay.
The Voice Acting is better than in the teaser trailer, although I think Adam's voice still doesn't have much going for it. _________________

Damn those screens look sweet
Also noted the screens were sourced from http://www.playstationuniversity.com . Great set of Aussies on that forum.

From PC PowerPlay
| Quote: | OK, just to confirm a few more things.
All locks on doors are electronic, and must be hacked. HOWEVER, doors still have health - the game just doesn't display it. You can still blow up doors, AS WELL AS shoot them to bits if you pump enough bullets into them from any weapon (a couple of pistol clips seems to do it).
Ammo is quite rare on hardest difficulty though so you can't do this willy-nilly.
But that's not all - doors are subject to PHYSICS DAMAGE too. I basically broke into half of the Detroit Police Station by bashing my trusty fridge against any locked door that stood in my way.
Looks like much of the first game's systemic elements have survived!
Oh yeah, another point: when you set the fridge down, you can snap to it as a cover object.
So, lets recap. The fridge is:
1. A killing machine
2. A mobile, impenetrable shield
3. A large and loud lockpick
4. Mobile cover
Conclusion: nerf the fridge. |
Man, its little shit like this that gets me so goddamn excited. This is action role playing as it should be. The freedom to play around with stuff at your own whim. Wanna use a fridge as a battering ram? Do it, and see what happens. 99% of players wont bother, but those that do will find the game react in some way.
This cant come soon enough. _________________

Love the cyberpunk genre (brings back memories of Syndicate on the PC from the early 90s...which was such an awesome game back then). I think this game will make August/September a good 2 month!!
