CONFIRMED 14th of May at The Fox, 7pm

So interest for a Brissy meet was shown in the "How has PALGN affected your life?" and well now, here I am, attempting to organize something and I don't even live in Brisbane.

If you're interested and think you'd attend, make a post, and even better if you could include what you'd like to do, I'm not all that familiar with Brisbane so I'm still learning places, all I really know so far is RGs is cool to chill at, the Met is awesome and last weekend I learned the hard way what the *beat is...

The dates I put above were just random Saturdays (I assume that'd be the best day) that suited me, but really any weekend other than next weekend (Portal 2!) suits me fine.

*Before you ask, I was tricked into it by hot lesbians, I didn't know they were lesbians though, I thought they just enjoyed putting on a show for me

But which part of the Beat did you visit? The Beat is dirty, yes, and is also considered a gay club by most, but it's one of only two places I'm restricted to due to the music I like so I don't mind one of their rooms every now and then. Were you hit on by a few dudes or something?

I'd honestly love to go to a Brizzy meet on these dates but I have two epic nights scheduled for the Friday before (not The Beat), so socialising and meeting new people is the last thing I want to be doing on what I'm assuming is going to be a severe hangover. Next time for sure.

I was downstairs at "the wreckers" most the night, I also ran into Samboy there, pretty funny coincidence. I went upstairs briefly looking for friends, but I got out of there pretty fast (I have to admit though it was fun telling a gay guy "NO, HE'S MINE!" and pulling my friend away when one of them started coming onto my mate).

Cmon, it's not THAT hard to go out two nights in a row is it? But, well, if it is, there's nothing saying it has to be either of those dates, I kinda just pulled them out my arse, like I said any weekend (friday included) is fine with me as long as it's not the weekend after Portal 2 is released

Ahhhhh, now I feel your pain, puddingfork. I always hang in the room you haven't ventured into. Only once I decided to head to upstairs wreckers, was chatting to a bloke for a min before he started lifting my shirt up. At that moment I was Usain Bolt, because I was running that fast away from there like you wouldn't believe. Never again.

^A date hasn't been set, and I'm pretty sure it won't be this weekend. Does the 30th suit you better?

Or any weekend after that if it suits people better. Could even do next weekend (23/04), I could always finish Portal 2 before the weekend, or at least play though a decent chunk of it.

EDIT: Despite how it looks, that arrow points at Benzas post.

@mrcool: I was mainly in the downstairs wreckers, mainly the bigger area with mirrors and stuff? I was only upstairs briefly, I decided if my mates were up there they weren't worth looking for haha

I'm keen for it, I have to work the 31st though. The night of the 29th would be suitable for me.

Probably best not to go to a place like RG's or The Met, too noisy for a meet up.

I'm not too familiar with Brisbane either, even though I've been living here for 3 years...

Perhaps we can go somewhere that isn't in the city, somewhere that's a bit quieter. Or if someone knows of a lounge in the city or valley or nearby that we can have some beers that would be a good idea.

Yeah, I know nothing, I wasn't suggesting those places btw, just saying that's the only places I'm familiar with, oh btw I forgot one and the fox, I went there briefly last week it was pretty nice, had some good beer on tap. Of all the places I've been that probably has the most meet potential, although I didn't go much farther than the front door so I could be very wrong for all I know.

Actually, The Archive in West End is good! We can get a table there, they have the most variety of beers too.

30th is sweet for me awell.

I think the Belgium beer garden is a good one for being able to talk iirc. I think Ghooleys, or maybe its finigans, under the myer centre is reasonably quiet on one side of the place where there is also a pool table!

The Fox is really good for catching up, it's really easy to chat to people and depending on what day you go you can get some really cheap drinks.

Fat Louie's on Albert st. is also cool if you want to play pool/kareoke then there's Gilhooley's on the same st. which is also very easy to socialise in.

Unfortunately, I'm booked solid for a month.

Updated the original post with a list of people interested and a list of people that would be able to make it on the 30th. 8 people are interested, but only 3 would be able to make it on the 30th, so I think a we might need to go with a later date.

As I said, any Friday or Saturday suits me, what weekends suit you other guys better?

Also it sounds like the fox might be a good choice, what do you guys think of The Archive Benno recommended though?

What do you all think of these dates, May 6/7/13/14. They all suit me fine, 13th is my 19th Birthday, but that doesn't really bother me either way.

You guys should rock cyber city, it has cheap and amazing food, arcade games, karaoke and a pool hall. And best of all it's byo and In the middle of the valley! I had my bucks party there and you buy a meal and they keep all your beer in the fridge for you, the place is amazing
