Hi Just got the 3ds and have 3 questions.
1. I haven't been able to launch the web browser. It keeps saying it needs a system update. But I have got the most recent version.
2. I own Pokemon Black from my DS lite. I can't seem to get the wireless setup working. I have a WPA router passkey. The old DS lite only did WEP. I thought Pokemon Black could use the newer encryption.
3. Is the eShop going to be up and running in MAy or so. It that correct?

I appreciate the help

They're referring to the major update coming on May 27th. It will add the browser, the eShop, DSiWare transfer and maybe a messaging system.

Pokemon Black supports WPA, assuming it's a legit copy (and not running on an old DS). Go to the system setting of your 3DS and set it up. You have to set up the DS WiFi separately from the 3DS WiFi for some reason.

EDIT: Pokemon Black seems to use the 3DS's WiFi settings, being DSi enhanced and all. Try to receive a mystery gift from Nintendo WFC and it'll guide you through the process to reset the WiFi info to use the 3DS.

See 1.

It only deactivates if things on the top screen can't be seen in 3D, unfortunately. If 3D is an option, you're stuck with it.

Check to make sure your wireless light is on BEFORE you emulate DS games. You can't turn it on while your playing the game. My WPA wireless worked fine to get the liberty pass for Black and White. Same goes for using C-Gear.

The DS is not emulated on the 3DS, just wanted to point this out.

But "emulate" IS the best verb that you can use.

Deal with it? It's not even really a problem to begin with (mine does it too).

Take it back to where you got it from and get it replaced. It "should" be covered under warranty (wont hurt to call Nintendo BEFORE going into your retailer)

I cannot use my Australian Credit Card on the US eShop all of a sudden.

Anyone else having this issue? The Error Code 0056-511 says I need to contact my card issuer, but I'm thinking a recent update has locked AU CCs out. Can anyone confirm that their AU CC is still being accepted? I seriously NEED to play Mario's Picross.

Yeah, seems they have blocked international cards with the update.

Apparently changing your region to Brazil lets you purchase, though!

I have a US 3DS and my system location is set to US. I've downloaded the Nintendo Video application from the eShop but I can't download videos as "The Nintendo Video Service is not available in your location. You cannot download videos." I read some stuff here about how it does an IP check, so I guess even though my settings are all US it's rejecting me because it's trying to get US videos from an AU IP. Has anyone managed to get around this without spoofing (as described there)? Nintendo Video seems kinda cool but not cool enough that I can be bothered going to all that effort.

I've really been enjoying my 3DS despite one major niggle. Getting it online.

My XP PC is using a wired LAN connection to access the internet. To get around it though, I got a 'Wifi Link' USB adaptor which for the most part, allows me to access the net just fine using my PSP, DS Lite, Laptop and iPhone.

For some bizarre reason, I simply can not get my 3DS online anymore. I was able to for a time, but now it won't pass the connection test.

When I set the IP address and DNS to auto, it won't even get past the part where the system attempts to connect to the access point.

If I enter the IP and DNS details manually, it will get to the part where it is attempting to access the internet, but fails there.

On the ZDWlan proprietary software, I can even see the 3DS show up in the MAC Address section but the aerial icon on the top screen on the 3DS does not show any bars lit up so it doesnt seem to be actually pinging the access point or vice versa.

I am using WEP encryption and have re-entered the passkey numerous times to no avail.

What's frustrating is that the iPhone 4S is seemlessly downloading updates as I try to get the 3DS through the connection test. It's brutal! I have no idea what the issue is. MAC address filtering is off and I've tried to the connection test when all over wifi devices are disabled. Help!

I'm having horrible camera issues. The inner camera is fine, as is the right outer camera, but the one on the left has a blotchy yellowy green thing going on. I've looked into it and there have been people that had camera issues that have been software related and others due to hardware. Has anyone here had something similar happen or heard of it happening?
