I'm a little confused here. Will Pokemon Black/White even play on a DS Lite? I know the DSi is region locked so when you say that B/W is region locked then I get the impression that the game can only be played on the DSi?

Region locked DS games (which are only games that have additional features for DSi) will only play on the correct region DSi / DsiXL / 3DS, but will play on any DS Phat / Lite. Phat wins again!
I really should go trade in some games for Pokemon White tomorrow, its too good an opportunity to pass up.
EDIT: I totally just found a second copy of Mario Kart DS in my pile of DS games (in box and everything). Where the hell did that come from?
EDIT 2: Wait, its just the box. Why the hell do I have this? Damn, I was thinking it was perfect trade bait.

Traded for both at JB today. Was going to import, but their deal was too good to pass up. BTW, there are crappy $8 games at EB that aren't on JB's exclusion list, I used $10 games from other stores instead since I wasn't near an EB but might be worth having a look? They're the kind of game no one's going to buy anyway, so it feels okay to use them for trade-ins (as opposed to getting good games cheap and using them).
Hoping that the region-unlockedness extends to American 3DSes as well as Japanese ones, hopefully DC will try their American copies (I assume that's what they're doing, since they always do) on an Australian DSi and let us know what happens with those.

Do we have a quick list of what some of those eligible $8 games are? I really can't be bothered carting around an exclusion list (especially since my printer isn't working and i'd have to write it out by hand), but I'd prefer to trade in two $8 games then two games I potentially could (though almost definitely won't) play again.

EB had nothing (cheapest games were $24), so I said goodbye to Phoenix Wright (bought it cheap, never got into it) and Yoshi's Touch & Go (served me well near launch, but I haven't touched it for years) and got me Pokemon White. Psyched.

Yeah I looked at EB too, but there was nothing for me either. Goodbye Labrador and friends (my real ones are hassle enough  ) and an incredibly weed filled Animal Crossing town, hello Pokemon White!
I am hyped beyond relief, luckily I only have one tutorial at Uni this Thursday that finishes at 12. Straight to JB for me!

I just tried to trade in 2 games at JB for the pokemon deal and they would't accept them, the games werent in the system. So does any one have a list of games they do accept for the DS?
If somebody has traded in games for the current deal and would't mind listing what games you traded in they would be great (just PM).
The 2 games are not on the exclusion list.

Yeah I noticed that the Exclusion List now has this little disclaimer:
"While we do our best to list all games excluded from Trade in deals some titles have never been carried by JB Hi Fi and while we are happy to buy these games back under our open sku, we are unable to buy these games back as part of our trade deal offers."
Not sure how long that has been there, but it is new to me.
Luckliy I was able to trade in Hell's Kitchen and JONAS without any problems.
