Well guys, September 11 we are gonna see
Sting vs Ric Flair
Now, if you ask me their rivalry was one of...if not THE greatest rivalry in the history of pro wrestling. The last time they went one on one was in the final episode of WCW Nitro.
How do I feel about them having one more match in 2011? well...I have a feeling it's going to be an embarrassing match and perhaps taint the legacy of that perfect rivalry.
I sure hope I'm wrong, I really want it to be good.
Now Hogan vs Sting at Bound for Glory is also set to happen, and based on their past encounters...I know it's going to be bad. _________________

I think given the right opponent that Flair can still have a great match even at this stage. Sting isn't that opponent, and I certainly wouldn't give him the same benefit of the doubt that I give Flair, I really don't think he has a good match in him regardless of the opponent. I don't mean any disrespect either, he doesn't have to put on great matches, he's Sting fer christ sake. I don't think anything they do in TNA will tarnish their legacies anyway, it's a black hole of a promotion and any time spent there by any wrestler may as well not of occurred anyway. The Joker gimmicks a bit much though.
As for Hogan.......very sad.
Btw, is there a WWE 12 thread or can we talk about it here?
Edit: This just in..... Matt Hardy arrested for DWI (DUI for us normal folk) after crashing his car into a tree. The tree was fine but the Hardy had to be put down.
Edit #2: And now Matt's been released by TNA. _________________

Read about the crash but didn't know Matt had sunk that low, though it's interesting they let Matt go after this but haven't effectively let Jeff go yet, or at least had it announced. _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004

Jeff's a draw Even when his not actually on the shows he would be making them money through merchandise, plus they apparently have a DVD about his career in the works. With all that great Jeff Hardy footage they must of shot in his illustrious TNA career it's set to be a must buy _________________

Looks like Matt Hardy had a nasty fall at his place overnight and has been rushed to hospital, side effect from the crash or just had three too many? _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004

Don't really care much for the Hardys, but you know you're messed up when you're starting to make Jeff look like 'the normal one'. Matt is very very lucky to have such a hot girlfriend, Reby Sky.
This was Matt's latest video before he fell down. It looks like he's going down the road that will end with a Benoit-like situation.
Now a few thoughts on this week's episode of Raw:
Del Rio looked kinda lost in the ring mic-wise with Cena and Punk. I liked how Cena expressed to Del Rio that since he went toe-to-toe with Punk twice, that he should have no problem facing anybody else. I just hope that translates to Cena's matches from now on. Cena should be going back and forth with his opponent, or totally dominating the match. No more getting beat up for 15-20 minutes, only to shrug it off and become Super Cena.
I loved seeing Cena's shirt bring thrown back into the ring at the start of his match with Punk. And Del Rio's reaction was great to see too.
The Miz & R-Truth's (or as i saw on another forum, The Awesome Truth) segment was great. I hate how R-Truth now has entrance theme music again, especially when it's just mainly guitar put over his old theme. Saying that though, i liked R-Truth's rap at the end of that segment. The phrases coming from the music were clashing with the rap, but hopefully this is the rebirth of chanting "You Suck" in time with an entrance theme, something that's been severely lacking since Kurt Angle's days in the WWE. Hopefully "The Awesome Truth" will be facing Bourne & Kingston (or as i again saw on another forum, "The Flying Oreos" lol) for the tag team belts at Night of Champions, instead of Otunga and McGillicuty having their rematch.
One more thing:
| Quote: | Steve Austin and CM Punk Escalate War of Words on Twitter
Posted by George H. Sirois on 08.25.2011
All promos are 140 characters or less...
Just like any great feud, a disagreement between two wrestlers grew to involve other wrestlers, and we even got Joey Styles to provide some commentary on the action.
The participants in this Twitter exchange started out words of advice between Zack Ryder (@ZackRyder) and Steve Austin (@SteveAustinBSR), and CM Punk (@CMPunk) interrupted to get under Austin's skin by commenting about beer.
Chris Jericho (@IAmJericho) threw in his two cents, Joey Styles (@JoeyStyles) suggested a different venue to attract a bigger crowd and William Regal (@RealKingRegal) offered the ideal exclamation point.
Ryder - @SteveAustinBSR I won't drink BLL tonight. What do you recommend?
Austin - @ZackRyder just go with regular Bud Light. Good beer. You'll thank me tomorrow....and it's cooler than BLL.
Ryder - @SteveAustinBSR Can I put a lime in the Bud Light?
Austin - @ZackRyder why HELL NO you can't put a lime in the damn beer!!!
Punk (responding to above tweet) - To make it not taste like piss. It's still poison.
Austin - @CMPunk you oughta mind your own business...stay focused on Nash and leave the beer drinking to me...Punk.
Punk - @SteveAustinBSR focus is my middle name...Steven.
Austin - @CMPunk my middle name is Whoop Ass...now go about your business before you step in a big pile of what did I get myself into now??
Jericho - "It's so cute reading @CMPunk and @SteveAustinBSR 's lil cyber bitch
Punk - @IAmJericho Yeah. Way more entertaining than you and Miz.
Styles - @CMPunk and @SteveAustinBSR can we move this twitter war to a slightly larger stage? Perhaps WrestleMania?
Regal - @SteveAustinBSR and @CMPunk Please just fight and get it over with.

This needs to be made into one of those advice dog meme generator things:
Somersaults of 10ft high ladders - gets straight back up
Slips on the kitchen tiles after a couple of drinks - straight to hosital.

I've got the raw taste of Smackdown in my mouth ... *cough* sorry, bad pun. Can I just say, though, I can honestly admit there isn't a single other irish person in the world that's as pale as Sheamus. Not one. Even I have a hint of 'sunlight' between the freckles.

"For the forseeable future", Smackdown stars will be on Raw and vice versa.
This was said by HHH during Raw, which is airing live at the moment.
Could this potentially mean less fast forwarding? I have raw episodes condensed to about 40 mins, with about 20 mins for smackdown.
Doesn't really bother me honestly, unless it means I now have to tolerate Cena two times a week.
Peoples thoughts on CM Punk Vs Kevin Nash at Night of Champions? Confirmed today as well, waste of time if you ask me.

I thought it was a really good edition of Raw.
Quality matches that made both competitors look strong, swerve finish and some nice promos. The big plus for me were the pre-match highlights of the lesser opponents like Ziggler who needed that reinforcement heading into the match. He looked great out there with Orton and if they keep it up the WWE product will be fantastic to watch. _________________

Meh, with wrestlers from both brands appearing on either show frequently, the brand split has been unofficially been over for a long time.
Just finished watching Raw. For a "super show" it was weird for Del Rio, the WWE champion, to not even appear.
It was funny when Kofi Kingston's pyro didn't go off.
Weird about the change from Nash/Punk to HHH/Punk, that it happened in the one episode. It's like HHH jumped on the internet during the show and only just realised how crap a match between Nash and Punk would be.

I don't know, at first i didn't like it, but it made sense for Nash to have an entrance theme since he's now 'on the roster'. I would have preferred for him to use his Diesel theme . I actually laughed out loud with Punk mentioning the Kliq then making jokes about Nash's bad knees.
With the match change, where does this leave Nash? While I thought it was too soon to make a match between him and Punk, i think it's even sooner for a match between Punk and HHH. Speaking of Nash and factions, with him and The Awesome Truth in the ring dealing with Punk, it'd be interesting if Nash took those two under his wing. At least it'd save him (and us) from having to be in matches.
Do you guys think there's actually an angle brewing with Otunga/McGillicuty and Jerry Lawler? I actually love what Lawler's been saying about them in their matches. There's a lot of truth in it. I hope that Lawler doesn't actually have to wrestle those two, and that he introduces new talent to fight on his behalf. The Flying Oreos don't have any other team to defend their belts against (besides The Awesome Truth).
It'd be the perfect opportunity to bring in the Kings of Wrestling. It'd be all King-related: Jerry "The King" Lawler bringing in The Kings of Wrestling

If they want to build their tag teams then now is the right time to bring in the TNA teams like Beer Money, Young Bucks and maybe even Alex Shelley and his tag team partner to reenergise the WWE tag team division.
As for Nash I really hope he has a manager type role as he hasn't got a decent match in him I feel with his bad knees and that he is getting on in the years, let him get some wrestlers around him and mayable has The Klique 2 or something like that, but no nWo please, old WCW stables should be left in the 90's. _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004

The problem with bringing in tag teams from TNA, if it's the current WWE product, they won't be able to carry over most of their move set. Beer Money just wouldn't be the same without the Beer, since that's a Stone Cold thing anyway.

So I watched No Surrender PPV
The X Division match and the Beer Money matches were awesome, Beer Money are easly the most popular stars in TNA. The main event was a joke, crowd was dead. _________________

Matt who?
Man, the final showdown between HHH and Punk was such an anti-climax. They did such a fantastic job leading up to this final week, but that final confrontation was terrible. What the hell were they even talking about. What CM Punk was blabbering on about had absolutely nothing to do with anything, just seemed like a long winded rant on wrestling image, which is somehow HHH's fault or something. Just terrible.
The awesomeness of WWE a few weeks ago has subsided quite quickly.
