I made the mistake of not having dumplings one last time before I left Melbourne. It was a horrible mistake. I can't get dumplings anywhere near where I live. I made some the other night, but they just weren't the same... pork dumplings, how I regret not eating you one last time. _________________

@Vervain: Surprise sickie, when you can't change your shift, feign an illness to get out of it... it's the Australian way. If you don't have any sick days a good knife to the palm of your hand is enough to make most bosses send you home... or to the hospital. |
I could do that, but only if I felt like not being able to pay my rent.
I've got a shift tomorrow and one of the Saturday morning home ent workers should be on the checkouts with me. I'm going to try and see if he's willing to swap shifts. This would all be much easier if work hadn't fired the only 2 other people who were trained and able to work home ent on the weekend (4 people to do the 4 shifts a day, which means nobody to cover shifts if someone is sick). _________________

Shanghai Village does sell frozen dumplings, and you can pack food in dry ice and overnight courier it... _________________

Unfortunately there's not really such a thing as "overnight courier" when it comes to rural QLD. _________________

I've never been to Chinchilla. There's also a place called Diddillibah, but apparently it's supposed to be pronounced Di-did-libah. _________________

You really only need to go through the Sunshine Coast to get a bunch of stupid names. Like Mooloolah and Mooloolaba. Real inventive there, guys. _________________

The drive from Brissie to Byron you can go through Condong and Mooball just south if the border, if you dont go through the huge tunnel, pretty drive too around mountains =) Mooball even has a strip of cow printed shops and houses with letter boxes <3 worth a stop off for the fresh fruit and vegie stalls.

The great thing about Pottsville is that it will probably be the next Byron Bay, it seems to be getting more popular. It's a nice spot, actually.

Alright, can we get a list update of people coming?
Just so I know who will be sitting at the adult table and who will be sitting with Theo at the kids table. _________________

Nah, I'm gonna bail - but don't fear, I'll send one of my numerous doppelgangers in my stead. You'll never notice the difference! _________________

Shanghai Village is on Little Bourke between Russell and Exhibition IIRC. It's got a pink interior, so you'll know you're in the right place. _________________
