Bumped into many PALGNers tonight. Was fun.
Then my sister started uploading and destroying my latency and it crashed my game too. Gah. _________________

So ... somehow I managed to commit suicide twice today. Once, by a grenade sticking to a leaf. A leaf. The other?
Jumping over a fence.
Yes.
A fence.
Thank God this is a beta

Just in case you (like me) think that the beta is really buggy here is an explaination from DICE.
| Quote: | | Just like normal procedure when releasing a game, the Open Beta has had long lead times due to testing, certification, and setting up. This means that the code you are now playing is actually quite early and not representative of the final game. |
Kind of obvious I guess _________________ Da Bessssss

Kind of burnt out with the beta and have grown very very sick and tired of the hit registration in it. It is infuriating when you run behind cover when under fire, then while under cover 2 seconds later, you suddenly die. Delayed and stupid.
That, imo, really needs to go as it's game breaking to me. The hitboxes and general feel of it is better than BC2 but it still needs a lot of work. Really hope it's just a beta thing. _________________

Yeah I'm kind of getting sick of the beta too. 80% of players are idiots that have no idea what they're doing, making it incredibly easy to get in the top 3 or so but it's really just a big illusion of skill that feels very shallow to me. Also hit rego and bugs are really pissing me off, I'll be surprised if they've fixed the hit rego by release though. _________________

For the time being I will stick to Bad Company 2, if anything this Beta has turned me off a game I was really excited about. Don't really buy there 'this is a overtly old build' bullshit either, if that is the case, then even more reason to think there morons for getting people to test a build full of bugs they would have all ready fixed.
Hackers have come out to play. (Not my screenshot)

Haha oh man so true about people not knowing what the hell the are doing. By the third stage we were losing and I just lost it when I realised up to this point I was the only person who continually kept planting the bomb. However sometimes I get some good teams so that balances it out.
The hit rego fails indeed, especially about what denny said when you run into cover but die anyway 2 seconds later. However, I buy into DICE's story about this being old code and that release should have fixed the majority of bugs, overall I am still pretty excited for a good release of BF3.
Hackers do not suprise me since I don't think punkbuster is even enabled in the beta. Think back to BC2 and how effective punk buster was. I think I could count on ONE hand the amount of times there was a hacker in my server that was succesfully playing, infact its hard to remember a time when there ever was one. What I did see was alot of notifications in the server log about players being banned for multi-hacks and what not. I've over 230 hours played in BC2 and hackers was never issue.
I expect the same of BF3 when Punkbuster is up and running, and by the end of all of this I think to myself that beta is beta, I enjoy playing it (when there aren't any hackers or my team isn't smokingly retarded) and look foward very much so to its release. _________________ xfire = andylulz

| Quote: | After analyzing the data from our first round of closed Caspian Border tests, we have great news for participants in the Battlefield 3 PC Open Beta: the DICE team has decided to bring back Caspian Border for the beta’s final weekend and conduct an open large scale test of the 64 player Caspian Border map.
*****Please keep in mind that as this is beta we will be stress testing our servers***** As such, users may experience crashes, network instability and outages as we roll out and configure servers and network utilities. Understand that such potential issues and the testing environment are not reflective or indicative of the final product and that, through your participation, you will be helping to ensure future stability and functionality.
As we are again specifically testing 64-player server configurations, this test will be for PC only. The Caspian Border servers will be available for all PC players to join. Caspian Border will be available starting Friday, October 7th, in the afternoon (CET). |

Woot! Missed out on testing when there was password servers up. Looking forward to see how my PC handles 64 players.
Edit: Oh WOW! Found a decent ping server with 64 people and this is what i'm talking about! _________________ Steam: Emilbus

Awesome, I was going to stop playing the Beta as I had had enough, it might get a few more hours off me this weekend now.

Very laggy, but it's cool to see the dogfights in the air while the tanks blow cover. Can get hectic at times with a full player count.

Woot this is awesome, can now finally utilise my favourite class to its maximum potential, the engineer.
I was never a big fan of using rockets on infantry, sometimes it was called for but they were really made for pwning armour _________________ xfire = andylulz

Caspian Border is so much fun. I had to turn down the shadows to low and turn off AA just to get it running above 60FPS. It looks like a jaggy mess.

Loving Caspian Border. Mainly the conquest mode as this is the way battlefield was meant to be played.
Had to turn my settings down to medium just to get >30fps... was really hoping my twin gtx 550 ti would handle better than that. oh well, in a few months when i have some spare $$ might buy in the $250 price range. _________________ Games for Sale

Mmmmm, I don't know if it's just because I'm a s*** player or if I have connection problems. I was only able to have a 15 minute session on the capsicum map last night, now every game I jump into, after 30 seconds I get 'kicked from server by administrator.' Any one know what causes this?
I didn't really enjoy it as much as I thought I would, I would always spawn at the main base but all the vehicles had been taken, and it just felt like I was running for an eternity before I could even see an enemy to shoot at. Thought it would've been majorly hectic but it still seemed everyone was going off and doing their own thing.

It's because your punkbuster folder is empty, apparently. There's a zip file floating around somewhere, I did see it in the battlelog forums. (Good luck >_>) _________________

The vehicles aren't that great anyway. It's much easier to spawn at either point A,B or C and just go in between them as an infantry with the engineer kit. They're so close together so you don't need a vehicle to get around.
