Is it just me or is EA/DICE not living up to their media blitz that was talked about with BF3?
Wasnt there a quote of $100 million being spent on advertising?
It's been reasonably quiet. _________________ Games for Sale

I'm sure it will ramp up. Game won't be released for a couple months yet, IIRC. Plus they have to advertise once it has been released.

I have searched the net for the answer to this.
Will BF3 have a health bar or regen health?
If you watch the faultline series of trailers there is no health bar, however, at no point do you see any other forms of health cues such as the common blood splatter on the screen.
I hope that it is a health bar system. Means that medics are required alot more and forces more team work which is what the Battlefield series is focused on. _________________ Games for Sale

Regen I'm guessing, same they used in Bad Company 2. Also I have played medics since BF2 all the way through to BC2 and medics are useful enough. All you need are shock paddles as a bit of extra health is useless when your getting shot at.

I've already pre-ordered 2 copies of the LE (PC) for me and my brother from Ozgameshop. It's $48 for the PC version but $65 for consoles. _________________ Steam: Emilbus

Apparently the story going here is some CoD fanboy somehow got access to the press-only Alpha, and dropped the graphics to the lowest and took the screens. (Entirely possible given the chat on the bottom screen G3ck0 posted)
Naturally they didn't block out their name so they're probably getting a visit from EA's lawyers. _________________

To me it looks about the same as CoD. So cant wait to get it and a new PC (time to upgrade for this game) and see how amazing it will look.
Even if they try to say its an ugly game, it also has 64 players (PC), vehicles, and that battlefield feel that CoD will never have. _________________ Games for Sale

Footage from the alpha is leaking out now. Im pretty sure all the footage is set to low, as the game needs a new driver update or something. _________________

Oh, so they aren't the top graphics? I was a little disappointed with how it looked, nowhere near as good as what had been show previously.

EA will not release Battlefield 3 on Steam unless they reached an agreement with Valve/Steam.
| Quote: | *snip*
"EA offers games, including Battlefield 3, to all major digital download sites. In doing so, our goal is to not only reach the widest possible global audience with our games, but also to provide ongoing customer support, patches, and great new content," a post to the company's official forum stated. "We are intent on providing Battlefield 3 players with the best possible experience no matter where they purchase or play the game, and are happy to partner with any download service that does not restrict our ability to connect directly with consumers."
EA has claimed that Steam has added a "set of restrictive terms of service" that limits how the company can provide patches and other content. "No other download service has adopted these practices," EA explained. Reading between the lines, it sounds like EA wants to offer patches as well as for-pay content directly to gamers through the games itself. Valve seems to have rules in place that state such content must be sent through the Steam servers.
We contacted Valve for comment on the limitations EA has complained about but have yet to receive a response.
*snip*
"When a download service forbids publishers from contacting players with patches, new levels, items and other services—it disrupts our ability to provide the ongoing support players expect from us," EA said. "At present, this is the case with only one download service. While EA offers its entire portfolio to this site, they have elected to not post many of our games."
*snip*

Definitely! More choice for us consumers is a very bad thing.

So do you have an EA and Origin account set up and running already then?
Edit: nice summary of my feelings right now _________________

The jet dog fighting is going to be sick. Also looks like they might have more than 2 planes for each opposing force on this map which will make it absolute mayhem in the sky.
I know what I'm gonna be playing for months after October. _________________ Games for Sale

I'd imagine so.. following on from Bf2, as well as Bad Company series.
I'd imagine it would follow Bad Company 2... though I have not played that so I don't know to what extent level is related to unlockable weapons, etc. _________________ Games for Sale
