Reading that review did not feel like a 7. Guess I'm not getting this game.

I wonder if it felt more like a 70% than a 7? People say that it's the same thing, but psychologically there's a difference in the way those scores are perceived.
There is a lot to like about Blood Stone because it is generally enjoyable to play despite its numerous, significant faults.
If you're at all confused, pay heed to the text of the review and don't become hung up on the score.

I do... but having said that, I feel the same way about Goldeneye (ie. I have no interest in it). *shrugs* _________________

Listen to the man, he speaks the truth.
A lot of people focus too much on the number without following THIS. _________________

| PALGN wrote: | | Blood Stone is a solid, enjoyable game, but never quite manages to capture the intangibles, those indescribable elements which, if properly represented within the game mechanics, convey the feeling of being Bond. When other licensed games such as 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum managed to incorporate all of the facets of the Dark Knight into a cohesive game experience, Blood Stone is simply content to cut and paste a mannequin of Daniel Craig into alternating vignettes of shooting and driving. Nothing about it is ever bad, but is it Bond? The answer is, sadly, not as Bond as it could or should have been. Perhaps one day a developer will do justice to the license by offering up a Bond adventure replete with the detail, intrigue, wit, darkness and melancholy which typify the best Ian Fleming romps; the wait continues, but most can take solace in the unassailable fact that James Bond will return. |
I think this paragraph truly sums it up nicely. I'm eager to play the game but I know it's not going to be ground breaking like Uncharted 1/2 were.. I'm sure I will still enjoy it but yes.. I think it is going to be one of those games you trade in after a week or two.. or if you've bought from EB, return for a full refund.
Rent or buy? Sounds like something to rent.
Have yet to receive my copy though (got it from OzGameShop for $63.. so won't be terribly disappointed either way) so will just have to wait and see. _________________
