I'm having fun tinkering with my new PSPgo, and I currently own one minis title, which I first downloaded last year onto my PSP-3000. Oh, in case you were wondering, it was Tetris icon_lol.gif

Anyway, I looked in the PS Store yesterday to try and find some new games to download (so far, just Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters icon_smile.gif ), and I thought of looking at the minis on offer. I was instantly overwhelmed by the sheer number of games available, and so I withdrew from the minis section with not but a single idea of a mini to download. I was wondering which minis are the best of the bunch, the cream of the crop, the...uh...spice of the...uh...spicy-food-dish-thingy...what I mean is which minis are the best value for money, which ones have the best gameplay, which ones have the most replay value, etc...? Well, you get the idea (I hope icon_confused.gif )

Age of Zombies is a good one. Awesome top down shooter.

The majority are **** though.

That's the general consensus with this type of game medium. Both WiiWare and DSiWare have a fair amount of 'ShovelWare' ( icon_lol.gif ), though there are some diamonds in the rough amongst the clutter.

I grabbed Tetris; seemed like the only decent thing there for Minis.

Now my girl is always trying to steal my bloody PSP.

I can play the various TDs for hours, but then I'm a hopeless TD addict. Haven't really investigated the other minis, but have been thinking of getting some of the PSone classics, if you haven't looked at those yet?

For whatever reason, the best thing about this game is that it's rated M.

Haha, same thing happened here. My missus has been playing my PSP almost every day since I bought Tetris.

As for minis' suggestions, I like Bloons and YetiSports. Bloons doesn't take long to finish, but they are quite fun. Think I have about 7 minis,

YetiSports
Bloons
Fortix
Puzzle Scape
Tetris
BreakQuest
SuperMarket Mania

Fortix is alright, not a fan of Puzzle Scape but it was on special when I only had less than 2 dollars in my PSN wallet. Not too fond of BreakQuest and SuperMarket Mania was for my girlfriend. In saying that, there are others out there that are so much better.

All my minis are ones I've gotten a part of Playstation Plus. The vast majority of them are just glorified flash games (heck, some of them actually are ported flash games) so I don't bother with them. Still, if you're looking for the best ones, I recommend Age of Zombies. As Jedi said, PSone classics can actually be a great alternative. icon_smile.gif

I agree about PSone Classics being a good choice, having bought a bunch I played years ago toward the end of last year (CTR is still one of my favourite kart racers, even though it doesn't come anywhere near the Mario Kart series for fun factor and multiplayer mayhem icon_lol.gif ).

I've never heard of PlayStation Plus though...I guess that's what happens when you lose your only PlayStation console and go months without a replacement remaining completely in the dark about all the latest with what's happening in the world of PlayStation - I had no idea PlayStation Room was scrapped until the end of last month! icon_eek.gif

Looking forward to obtaining a PS3 and LittleBigPlanet as well. Is it true you can play minis on PS3 as well? icon_confused.gif

I think some minis are compatible with both PS3 and PSP, some with only one or the other.

All the minis are compatible with both the PS3 and the PSP.

A few sites (Eurogamer springs to mind) regularly reviews PSP minis, so checking those places out wouldn't hurt in making a decision. I concur with everybody else though, to be honest - the PSone Classics are possibly your best bet in terms of quality gameplay to price ratios.

^ I thought I'd seen minis on the store that say the game is ONLY compatible with PSP?

Yeah, you can only play Tetris on the PSP. I'm sure there are others.

I'm always on the look of cheap Minis to put onto my PSP.

I have these:

Hero of Sparta
Let's Golf
Fly Fu
ArcadeDarts
5:in:1 Arcade Hits ()
VT Tennis
Championship Manager 2010 (soccer)
Pinball Fantasies

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_minis

also, "Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords" is only a $10 download from the PSN store. This game was not commercially released in Australia (on umd disc), so I would HIGHLY recommend this game above all others. icon_smile.gif
