^ I see that extra 100mm came in handy.. I couldn't get close enough with my 300mm at the air show.

I still gotta edit my pics, but im a bit disappointed grey clouds ruined a lot of the smoke effects etc.

Tried photographing the moon again tonight, because I read it's the closest orbit it's going to have for the next 18 years. Turned out pretty good for what limited equipment I've got. Tripod does wonders for night shots but I think I'd want a 2x teleconverter for closer shots next time. Guess I should go hunting for a cheap one.

It's just shy of full, you can actually see the silhouette of the craters on the left.

itss actually a pretty small mantis lol, nah I was just walking around in the backyard and saw him chilling in this flower, so then I ran and grabbed the camera lol.

I managed to take these without getting tangled in his web or accidentally poking him with the camera




He was moving around quite a lot, so I didn't really want to get too close. Especially since he dropped down really quickly at one point, so no going underneath him for a close up!

Initially started shooting with my spotlight only, ended up using my on-camera flash to get these really nice bright shots. I am so buying a ring-light as my next camera-related purchase.

I've been hunting spiders again. This guy looks kinda similar to the last one, despite being just a few millimetres across. I think he's some sort of jumping spider but he doesn't have the big white palps I usually see on them. Maybe it's a female then? Tried to move it off my washing but once I got it on a stick he just disappeared!

Took a snap of this little guy about a month ago while wandering around Phillip Island. It's the first time I've converted to black and white, as I felt the foreground was distracting in colour (there was a leaf there or something). Taken with my 55-200 zoom.



I happened to have my camera on me whilst walking to the station from uni the other night and I noticed how good the State Library looks when it's all lit up. Took a couple of snaps with the 8-16mm.



There's a bit too much stuff going on in these pics, especially the one below (lots of people left their 'ghosts' behind as they were walking along the footpath on the right), but the light is pretty cool.
