I'd be surprised if there wasn't a PAL release, I don't think any Nobunaga games made it to PAL (though they did to the US) but it's Pokemon, they must cash in! Even if they don't, it's DS so importing should be A-OK. _________________

This could be the kick up the arse that the Pokémon franchise needs. Though, as much as I love tactical battlers, I somewhat wonder whether the combat will turn out dull and drab. _________________

Ugh...another Pokemon game where you get an Eevee as a starter.
Apart from that it looks good. _________________

Another? I don't remember a game where you get an Eevee as a starter, unless you mean that you could be an Eevee in MD. _________________

I think you started with Eevee in one or both of the Gamecube RPGs, too. Also that douchebag Gary/Blue/whatever got to start with an Eevee in yellow. And left you with stupid Pikachu. Because he's a jerk.
EDIT: Wait, only one of the Cube RPGs (X.D.), the other one you start with Espeon and Umbreon. Same sorta thing, though.

Yeah, I was thinking of Pokémon Colosseum and XD. I forgot that you start with both Espeon and Umbreon in Colosseum though, but I've just had enough of the eeveelutions in general. _________________

Agreed. Anyway, I think this game will get a localisation, if only because it's a pokemon game. Other than Pokemon Green, I can't think of any Pokemon game that hasn't been localised so far. _________________

Wow, I had no idea that even existed. @_@
Also, we never got Hey You, Pikachu!, although the US did. _________________

Hey You, Pikachu! doesn't count. Damn, I forgot about the second Pokemon Card game, I really wanted that! Still, I think you can see my point, there's an excellent chance that this game will get a localisation. _________________

None of the wii pokemon mystery dungeon games have made it, and this seems like an extension of that formula. Still even a US release would do since the DS is region free. _________________

I remember going to my mates house when I was a kid and his dad just came back home from Japan. My excitement to see Pokemon on the N64 turned to disappointment and disgust when my friend told me (I didn't know an ounce of Japanese, and I still barely know any) that only 42 Pokemon could be used within Pokemon Stadium.
Thank god the subsequent releases were so much better.

There was a Pokemon TCG 2? I would've been all over that.

Ever since the DS came out I've wished they would make a Pokemon TCG game on it, they could make new sets downloadable or do a thing like Yu-Gi-Oh where you could input a code on cards you buy. I think they do that on the TCG online thing they launched recently. _________________

Yes it was. I recall renting it several times from Video EZ and then getting it for my birthday. _________________

They do. I agree that a DS or 3DS Pokemon card game would be great. The game itself is a little simple, but I'd still buy it for sure. I love card games! _________________

The game is a lot simpler than something like Magic but it still has a remarkable amount of strategy. I used to play competitively but gave it up when I ran out of time a couple of years ago, I'd like to pick it up again but I'm so busy now _________________

Nah this was a case of Nintendo changing the names to confuse the crap out of everyone. Pokemon Stadium to most people is Pocket Monsters Stadium 2 in Japanese.
The original Pocket Monsters Stadium was released in Japan only, and it had animations for only 42 Pokemon (basically the final evolved forms). The other Pokemon couldn't be used. In addition, there were only 2 modes: Competition Mode and Free Mode.
Competition Mode was particularly bad, as there were 2 level restrictions, level 1-30 and level 50-55. There wasn't any Battle Castle/Tower, minigames or any other support that you saw in the Pokemon Stadium that most of the english speaking world know.
TLDR version: Pokemon Stadium English version is the 2nd game in the series.
(Proof that I'm not crazy. We'll technically I'm nuts, but I'm 100% sure about this)

What? There is no way the idea of Mewtwo hanging around with a Samurai Warlord isn't awesome.

I still think Pokemon Stadium looks pretty good for an N64 game.
Anyway, back to the present, some new news on this game:
| Quote: | Pokemon + Nobunaga’s Ambition is Really Happening, Has a Release Date
Pokemon + Nobunaga’s Ambition, the Pokemon/Nobunaga’s Ambition crossover co-developed by Game Freak and Tecmo Koei, is coming to the Nintendo DS and 3DS on March 17 in Japan.
Like every other Pokemon game, it begins with a male or female character selection. This time you control a general who has strong ties to Pokemon, and regardless of what gender you choose, you get stuck with an Eevie. Rather than gyms the world is split into 17 kingdoms, each one under the dominion of a general and their Pokemon partner. Working with your Pokemon, you must defeat these generals in Pokemon battles to unite the realm.
Battles are the traditional six-on-six Pokemon setup, with each general, or “busho” as they are called in-game, possessing one unique power themselves. For example, one “busho” can heal all Pokemon in battle. When you’re not embroiled in battles against other generals, players will be required to hone their Pokemon army’s skills… so, train them. Generals can “link” with wild Pokemon and scout new generals to help you train your army in the castle town you rule.
There is no word yet on what the story is, exactly, but this is all starting to sound like a fifteen-year-old’s crossover fanfiction to me. Still, there’s nothing like a good old-fashioned Pokemon battle, so we’ll see. |

If you can get a mewtwo it will be even worse, there was one of them genetically engineered from Mews DNA, you can't have one in some crazy feudel japan setting. _________________
