TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 General Info:

As everyone knows… The previously announced Street Fighter X TEKKEN and TEKKEN X Street Fighter titles are part of an overall “Fighting Game Festival.” But, the first title in the “festival” is announced today (at TOUGEKI)… TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2. Tentatively scheduled for a Summer 2011 arcade release in Japan.

TEKKEN fans are in for a real treat as the order of releases for games will be:

1. TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2
2. Street Fighter X TEKKEN
3. TEKKEN X Street Fighter

Today’s teaser trailer is in-game footage, not CG. It might look similar to TEKKEN 6, but the graphics engine has been tweaked/improved to support up to 4 characters on screen at once. The character models were redone from TEKKEN 6 moving onward to TTT2.

TTT2 will follow the same control scheme as the original Tekken Tag Tournament: One stick for movement and 5 action buttons. As seen in the teaser, there will be tag combos involving both characters tagging in and out-in succession to complete multi-hit combos/juggles. Walled stages remain and breakable walls/floors are still in the game. New mechanics and stage features will also be implemented. As seen in the trailer, there are some possible unique attacks depending on the character teams that are chosen (Ex. Jin & Asuka).

Several characters are featured in the trailer, but the character lineup will not be announced for some time.

Interview with Hadara-san about Tag 2.

Do very, very, very much want.

I wonder if the engine could handle potentially four fighters on screen at once, and wall/ground breaks.

More tekken then you can shake a stick at.

T7, TT2, SxT, TxS.

I think Namco are really flogging a dead horse here. I'm more keen for the next Soul Cal title to be honest.

As expected, the usual hate from Leon to something that isn't 'Street Fighter IV' icon_rolleyes.gif .

Tekken 6 is great, this will even be better. Who cares about Soul Calibur, the fact that they haven't announced a sequel after all this time shows that they screwed up big time with the latest installments.

There wont be a Tekken 7, not soon anyway, this is the 'Tekken 7' that was discussed back in May. If there will be a Tekken 7, I'm pretty sure it will come out long after Tekken X Street Fighter is released.

Bring on the Hype!!! icon_cool.gif icon_cool.gif icon_cool.gif

Seriously I am so happy to hear this that my heart is pounding and I have butterflies in my stomach.

Ok I just read Arcade only.If this doesn't come out on console then I hope Namco all die in a fire .That or get beaten to death by Tekken Fans icon_lol.gif

Duke Nukem Forever and now this.I need to pinch myself to make sure this is real icon_lol.gif

I think the world ending in 2012 is true icon_lol.gif

SFIV, SSFIV, SxT, TxS.

If Namco is flogging a dead horse then so is Capcom.

While this is awesome, hopefully the releases aren't too close together as it could get a bit stale. Though it is going 3d, 2d, 3d so that's pretty cool.

Personally I'm looking forward to this more than TvSF or SFvsT, I'd like to see Namco start up a third fighting series.

Definitely, I hope they bring back the bowling mini-game and many more for this. I got this game at the PS2 launch so I have fond memories not only of this game but just seeing the PS2 logo flash up on the TV. icon_lol.gif

Am I the only one tired of that "Tekken, Serious Business" stuff? It was funny the first few times but it's grown stale icon_razz.gif

Gamesta, Tekken is serious business. That photo is merely stating fact.

It's a bloody game and though I do have goes at some people for bashing the series, I only do when I think they are speaking a load of ignorant bullshit (hell I will defend games I don't like if I feel the hate is ignorant trash) Tekken to me is a just a game series not "serious business" as those now non funny posters/pics state.

Sure some people participate in tournaments and get money for winning and for that I understand Tekken may be "serious business" but to me it's just the best fighting game series and nothing more than just that, a game.

Anyway everything gets annoying when it's mentioned to much.I should know as I often say something too damn much icon_lol.gif

Lol the 'Tekken serious business' meme isn't a literal term. It's simply the best way to win/end an e-argument icon_cool.gif

I was just going to post that link haha. It's pretty obvious that they were going to go with a tag game. They made 3 canon games in the past before making the first Tag. Now being up to the 6th game, it's a given.

Tag 2 must be pretty far along if they can show two different stages in the one trailer.

And this is for you leon icon_cool.gif

Was expecting next Tekken be Tekken 7 ..but TT2 was a surprise package but equally excited about this game..

I wonder they would be working on KOF vs SF vs Tekken of course fight system and look should be of SF4.

The average Street Fighter player has a luche-libre mask? Cause that's kinda awesome.

Never played Tekken Tag Tournament and really only started with 6. Do they play that different or is it basically just tekken with tag team play?

That's it exactly. T6 with switch out character combos. Think DOA 2 tag mode (if you played that).
