Reviews are pouring in, seems flawed yet favourable. Destructiod have done it again. Awarding it 10/10 where-as most others are 8ish/10. I will never forgive them for the Castlevania review, their opinion is dead to me. _________________ Shin J Leon.

I'm downloading it now, curious to give it a go. It sounds like it'll be fun, just not the same kind of fun as Killzone 2 unfortunately :\

Played it a bit, after a couple of games I kept coming first. It is unfortunately like COD in some ways, which ruins it. It is fun, but after a few games I was already getting bored, so I don't think I'll be buying this one. God damn COD, it's ruining shooters.
Oh, and it was full of annoying 13 year old kids, I kind of wanted to tell them to shut up and go back to COD

Ok after playing for a few hours today i have to say i'm enjoying it a hell of a lot more. Ive been playing mainly warzone and have had some great fun, i dont know if its because most of the idiots have gotten bored and moved on. Operations is kind of cool featuring the top 3 players in each side in mini cut scenes. This is still a day one purchase for me despite my issues i do have with it. Hopefully we can get the palgn clan going again! _________________

bit of a entertaining read on the official forums all i see is cry cry and cry some more.
Some things like the lower player count and not being able to spawn on your squad are bad choices but i love it, yea theres some other problems here and there but overall i think alot of ppl are overreacting and were thinking it would be KZ2 with some new maps.
I like the faster aiming, its still nothing like cod and keeps that heavy feel, i guess those who like KZ2's controls will think otherwise but for me they were terrible and the cod fanboys seem to still have trouble with them based on some youtube vids ive seen. _________________ Wanna go to space?

I've played it a bit more today and I was enjoying it. I've pretty much stuck to being an infiltrator at the moment, I really like the shotgun and disguising myself is very handy. I don't think it feels too much like COD, but I haven't played that since MW2 over a year ago. _________________

I really don't get why people are bitching that the controls feel like COD. The controls are not like COD, they still have that heavy/weighted feel to them and are not as arcadey. The only thing that is similar to COD is the points and the unlocks, thats it. Seriously, if you think the controls are like COD, there's something wrong. I played Black Op's then this and there was a big difference between the controls. _________________

Yea i dont understand it either, the controls haven't changed that much really and there still nothing at all like cod, its just a little faster and smoother but still keeps thats heavy feel to it.
oh well let em complain, i like the change they haven't taken it to far and it feels way better then KZ2 imo so im happy. _________________ Wanna go to space?

24/02.
Also I'm not sure which class it is but I find the proximity mines people are leaving on staircases really annoying. _________________

The disappointing MP impression still hasn't deterred me from being super excited for the game, and my Helghast edition is still coming. I just expected more out of the MP, as KZ2's MP was excellent especially for its chaotic nature. KZ3 is currently really lacking the chaos, though it might just be the Frozen Dam Map which is pretty meh at the moment. _________________

HYPEEEE
I honestly can't wait for Killzone3. The visuals look to be absolutely incredible and I can't wait to play the SP campaign. _________________

Played some more, it isn't as bad as I first thought. Some things are kind of better than 2, but then some things in 2 are better. It's still disappointing that they made it faster/easier, and sniping is pathetically easy, it takes no effort to dominate with it in an open area. Might buy it one day when it's cheap, it has split screen after all

It's faster as in you move faster, or at least it doesn't feel as heavy, and you get killed a lot quicker. Killzone 2 was great because of the heavy feel and it took more than a few bullets to kill, it just made it different to a lot of shooters out there. And, as Denny said, Killzone 2 required a lot more skill to be good, I remember when I first started playing it online I did so badly, but after playing it more I slowly got better at it, until I was fairly good at it. Whereas with this I was doing great after a game or two.

That sounds like how Naughty Dog ruined Uncharted 2 multiplayer. In that it took a lot of bullets to kill people so you actually had to know how to aim. _________________

Ah yeah I remember kz2 the weight of the player felt heavier when I switched from modern warfare and back it took some adjusting. Still with the burst speed and shotgun, it racked up frags in no time.
Maybe you were good in kz2 that in kz3 you were already used to things.

Maybe, but I don't think I was as good as I am in Killzone 3. And definitely not with the sniper, I can get so many kills with that without wasting m/any shots.

Just gave it a shot.
Seems like health is a lot lower, which I dont really like. Seems really easy to kill people, especially with the shotgun, whereas Killzone 2 (from what I've played) seemed a bit higher in health.
On the plus side they fixed the terrible controls of KZ2. People can say what they like; KZ2's controls were balls and had nothing to do with how heavy the gunplay felt. Guns still feel heavy here, and aiming feels tight and responsive and less like I'm trying to steer the worlds slowest tank.
They also seemed to fix the player height, which is good. _________________

Weight? I didn't think to think of it that way. I thought it was some kind of strange controller lag due to the PS3 choking on graphics and the colour brown.
The KZ3 demo isn't a priority for me, might pick up the full game eventually. After you strip away all the initial hype, I doubt it'll be worth a day 1 purchase (for me anyway). Haven't really been overly impressed with the series so far and it has a history of being overhyped... *cough*halokiller*cough*

Well, you know, everyone seemed to love how 'heavy' the gunplay in KZ2 was, and I liked it too. Guns felt really meaty, loud, and nasty, which was a nice change of pace from the pea shooter guns you find in so many other shooters.
Then a bunch of crazies were all "bu bu bu the controls made it heavy if they make the controls tighter the game will be ruined", as if a snail paced turn speed despite having maximum sensitivity, terrible analogue acceleration, and noticeable response lag were somehow good, skill based design. They've fixed all that, it seems, and low and behold the guns feel pretty heavy.
The high damage does seem to hurt it a bit though, and the guns could be a wee bit louder as well as have some more kick back. All of these things are potentially fixable though, just like the terribad controls have been.
EDIT: I also like that the beta's map had colour and brightness, and was not a murky vaseline filtered blur of brown and grey. _________________

Control wise it's mostly fine and adjustable even if it did catch me off guard, it's just the changes in mechanics that s**t me off. It's still too easy to kill things and this is why it gives a CoD kind of vibe; because it's easy. High damage weaponry doesn't help either.
The lack of sixaxis steadiness on the sniper just infuriates me. With that said I'll reserve my full opinion on it on release day, when there are more maps and more things to try. _________________

Its the lack of recoil and lower health. Its stupid, and Im not sure why GG decided to go down that path. Had they left it how it was with the now tighter controls it would have been perfect.
And I too like the motion controlled steadying of the sniper rifle in KZ2. It was simple, but effective. _________________
