|
|
|
|
| Quote: | | Sucker Punch is an upcoming action-fantasy film written by Steve Shibuya and Zack Snyder, who is also directing the film.[2][3] Sucker Punch features an ensemble female cast[4] that includes Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, and Jena Malone. The film follows a young girl in the 1950s about to be lobotomized and as she attempts to escape the asylum with her inmate friends. |
| Quote: | | The script, which was penned by Snyder and Shibuya, was finalized in five years and was actually planned to be made first before Watchmen, a film also directed by Snyder. Snyder had been working on the Sucker Punch story for six years, through filming of his other movies. For the shoot, he reassembled most of the Vancouver-based crew who worked on Watchmen.[5] |
| Quote: | | Snyder has described the film as "Alice in Wonderland with machine guns", including dragons, B-52 bombers and brothels. Snyder's wife and producing partner Deborah Snyder concludes, "in the end, it's about this girl's survival and what she needs to do to be able to cope."[9] |
| Quote: | | In February 2009, Snyder released a short synopsis of Sucker Punch which states: "Set in the 1950s, it tells the story of Baby Doll (Browning), who is trying to hide from the pain caused by her evil stepfather and lobotomy. She ends up in mental institution and while there she starts to imagine alternative reality. She plans to escape from that imaginary world but to do that she needs to steal five objects before she is caught by a vile man. She has 5 days to escape before being lobotomized. In order to cope with the situation, she enters the hyper-real world of her imagination, and the lines between reality and dream begin to blur. She is joined with friends who are inmates from the institution. Lessons learned in the said fantasy world could help the girls escape their real-world fate. |
CAST
# Emily Browning as Baby Doll
# Vanessa Hudgens as Blondie
# Abbie Cornish as Sweetpea
# Jamie Chung as Amber
# Jena Malone as Rocket
# Carla Gugino as Mrs. Schultz
# Jon Hamm as High Roller
# Scott Glenn as The Wiseman
Snyder, so expect half the film to be in slow motion. But Browning is in it, and she is a babe. _________________

Alice in Wonderland with Machine guns? Count me in. It'll probably be trash, but I must see this film.

I loathe Synder's style, absolutely loathe it. However the concept of this film intrigues me greatly, so I'll check it out regardless.

i feel dirty just looking at these Character Posters. Still, going to see this film.
Be interested to see how Browning does with the role, Since from what i understand, she was a last minute casting for the role when someone else dropped out. _________________

It's certainly an interesting casting choice, and the posters are rather intriguing. Browning is barely recognisable as the girl who played Violet in A Series Of Unfortunate Events, she's matured a lot! _________________

... is there a larger version of that? Say, something big enough to fill two 22" monitors? I need a new wallpaper at work... _________________

Great trailer, this should be epic. I'm loving the banner too, it doesn't really work as wallpaper though. _________________
