Formally known as 'Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2', this sequel will be debuting on both the PS3 and 360 on September 21 2010. All the new gameplay elements from the first be will returning, along with a new system called the drive gauge system, allowing your assist characters create combos with the player, it will also let the assigned assist characters protect the player against severe damage. As well as the recurring cast returning, it will also feature over 40 characters from the Shippuden series. Also, as a guest character, I introduce...
YES! Lars Alexandersson from the Tekken series will be making his debut on Ultimate Ninja 2. The Naruto creator made the costume for Lars in Tekken 6 as a console exclusive, so they saw it fit to add him to Ultimate Ninja 2, pretty neat eh? I know who will be my main. ^___^
Also new to Ultimate Ninja 2 is a Online Mode with Quick, Ranked and the ability to host matches, this feature was missed in the first Ultimate Ninja, thankfully they made sure to include it in this one.

Ninja Storm 2 Release Date for Europe + Special Edition
Minato, also known as the fourth Hokage, is a playable character in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 and you won’t need to pay extra to access him. But, he’s the very last character players will unlock.
The Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 collector’s edition comes with a DLC card that unlocks Minato right away. This bundle also includes a soundtrack CD and a laser cell artwork of Hokage Naruto drawn by series artist Masashi Kishimoto. While the picture shows the PlayStation 3 version, Namco Bandai Games Europe has a collector’s edition with the same items for Xbox 360 too.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 comes out in Europe on October 15. An English demo will be available for PAL gamers on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network starting on August 25.

Wait so this is a tekken character? in a Naruto game? I have big respect for the tekken franchise but for it to appear in a naruto game seems really weird.. i want naruto chracters, not tekken ones.

I wouldn't consider it any weirder than Soul Calibur including Nintendo and Star Wars characters.

Fair enough.. they should just make a fighting game with naruto, bleach, and one piece characters in that graphical style. Kinda like the shonen jump games on the DS. ..now that would be a dream come true..

Don't forget Battle Stadium D.O.N! That was a great little game, but the licensing was a big problem as always, no English version. I'd love to see more games in the same style, but we'd probably never see them get localised. 
As for Ninja Storm 2 - can't wait! It'll be a day 1 purchase for me, just like the first game. Online shall be very interesting!

if it was on PS3 id import it aside from the move sets everything else needn't be read or heard .

That's true, but don't forget that there's often more to these games than just understanding the moves/controls. Battle Stadium D.O.N, for example, had a fairly complex story mode which I had trouble figuring out. You need to get through it multiple times to unlock all the characters. Translation FAQs (when they appear) do help a little though. The Shonen Jump games had me completely confused.

The original Naruto Ultimate Ninja on PS2 was what introduced me to the world of Naruto and ever since then I've become a fan of the series. Ironically though I haven't played an Ultimate Ninja game since that first outing on PS2, so I'm looking forward to getting this one on 360 when it comes out.
Personally I want to fight as Tobi. I'd be surprised if he isn't in the game as a playable character given they go up to the Pain's Invasion arc in the game. Remember, Tobi is a good boy!

Should be in it. He does try and prevent Nartuo and co from interfering with Sasuke/Itachi's fight.
On a slightly related front, I'm REALLY looking forward to this weeks ep of Naruto. It should be the BEST ep of the current arc.

Well I'll probably get this, since I completed the first Ninja Storm - so it'd be a natural progression.
I wonder if we'll get the Kishimoto art this time around (doubt it though) as the cover. The Japanese release of the first Ninja Storm, Kishimoto did the cover for.

Time for a revival folks! A demo is to be released on PSN and Xbox Marketplace July 29! The full game will retail October 21st in Japan, a European and American release will follow shortly. First post updated!

That E3 trailer was amazing, it looks like they've improved on the first one so much! I want it now! Great news about the demo, I'll be grabbing that for sure. Here's hoping our release date is only a few days after (it could even be before, for all we know) the Japan one. Namco have only confirmed an October release so far.

I'm currently halfway through season 1 of Shippuden after getting turned off Naruto a few years back. After missing so much of the main series, I actually somehow have a very clear understanding of what is happening lol.
I'll be getting this. Especially now that Lars is part of it ^_____________^

Demo is up on the Japanese PSN Store. Login to the Japanese PlayStation Store, scroll to the fifth option for PS3 content, then check out the trial version, which is the fourth folder from the left, depending on your Store settings. It shouldn't be too hard to find.

Indeed, I just grabbed it this morning! For me, one word sums it up - wow. If the rest of the game is that good (it's looking that way), then this game is going to be amazing! The Kakashi boss fight is really well done, and this time around it truly feels like a boss fight with some spectacular (and hilarious) quick time events mixed in with the standard fighting. As a Naruto fan, I was grinning the whole time, haha. There's some clever use of the environment too, with Kakashi's Lightning Blade able to electrify a body of water to stun his opponents. There's also strategic use of partner characters, with Sakura being used to hit Kakashi when he's out of reach, yet vulnerable. It's all really well done. 
Meanwhile, it looks like the graphics are holding up pretty well despite the new multiplatform status. Character models look great, and there's some nice lighting and environmental effects being shown off. The controls are the same as that of the first game, so no issues there. This is now my most anticipated game of the year!
Oh, and Zero, I was wondering about the September release date you've listed in the first post. What's your source on that? Or is it just a typo? It would be awesome if it were true, as that's my birthday! ^_^

Yeah I'm really digging the demo, I recorded the entire gameplay footage which I'll pop on YouTube soon, first time playing it so excuse my noobness folks xD. The September release date was from an old source but I guess it's wrong.
