Wow, I'm impressed. The game looks better than the average Xbox 360/PS3 title! Can't wait to get my hands on it. _________________

Wow, just wow. I think that's the first video of a Wii game I've seen so far that has made me go, 'SQUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!'. _________________

Nintendo already have my money!
I'm just curious, at the 2.5d segments, can you only move left and right? Or is it more of a 3D left and right - as in you can move towards and away from the screen. _________________

This is a third person shooter with first person elements. It's classified as such. It annoys me somewhat (I'd much, much, much prefer a purely 2D (well, 2.5D)) but the game still looks good. Obviously, there are also 2D elements which is good.
What concerns me is that pace of the action. The speed of everything suggests to me that the game won't be as exploration-based as previous titles in the series. I'm sure it would be great fun but without the exploration and atmosphere (another thing that seems different from other games from the trailer) it isn't a true Metroid game to me. Then again, I'm a purist who was shocked at the Metroid Prime announcements so I'm happy to be proven wrong.
I'll definitely be getting this as soon as possible. I just hope that this isn't going to be the way all Metroid games in the future are played. It's been a long while (eight years! Eight!) since the last original 2D Metroid game and I need my fix (I'm happy with Super Metroid on the VC too, though). _________________ Putting the pro back in alien probing techniques.

A thought just occurred to me...
When you go into first person mode, are you able to move? Or are you stuck on that spot?

^ apparently when you do 'the switch' to First Person, you ARE stuck to that spot for that short amount of time, no Metroid Prime First Person exploring here...
Doesn`t really bother me though, that 2D explorin`looks mighty fine and plays like a dream as I`ve heard _________________

The switching between Wii remote positions looks like it may take a bit to get used too.

Well, as long as it doesn't break up the action I'll be fine with it then. I suppose you really have to play it to understand it.

Does anyone else get the feel that it seemed to be more of a 3D platformer with a first person camera option... sorta like other 3D platformers?
Still looks absolutely amazing though!!!!! _________________

I read a hands on in Game Informer (I think) it's awesome except for one thing... the switching positions. They said that it's incredibly cumbersome going into First Person mode and, while fine in exploration, in combat you WILL get hit in the transition and not through fault of your own.
I'm hoping this gets fixed for the release as it's apparantly the only thing marring an otherwise flawless product.

THIS! This is it! This is the Metroid game I didn't know I always wanted! I'm happy with normal 2D (Fusion and Zero Mission rule, yo) but this... dude... I may actually finish a game this year! _________________

I agree with the other comments of "they should keep it 2.5D"
Man game looks so sweet in that style, until he jerks the wiimote forwards and is in FPS mode, gah that blows.
Fucking nintendo have to fuck a good game inspiration with this shit tech. _________________
