Let it never be said that I don't cater well to the numerous people1 on this forum who are big Jonathan Coulton fans owning Rock Band 2, which never came out in this country.
But courtesy of the Rock Band Network, he now has four more songs available on Rock Band 2 for Xbox 360. (Nope, not on PS3... yet.)
So his full songlist available on Rock Band 2 is now, in order of awesomosity:
1. Still Alive (not performed by him, but written by him)
2. Skullcrusher Mountain
3. Creepy Doll*
4. The Future Soon*
5. Re: Your Brains
6. Code Monkey*
7. Ikea*
(* indicates newly released)
So go grab some nerd rock if you can!

too bad rock band network doesn't work in this country, it is connected to xna club, where a previous premonition of mine came true
The stuff on xna club isn't rated, hence xna club is locked for downloads in australia, and probably never will be open unless they can strike a deal to not have to submit everything, i don't see that happening any time soon though....
hopefully it does as that made me rather pooty last night
Please fix this m$, someone anyone

I just realised the irony.
So, Harmonix is likely to move the most sold songs on RBN for Xbox360 to regular PS3 store. This means that if you want the JoCo songs, the only hope is there!
I think I might cry.

So in the end, the only way to get some RBN songs in Australia might be on the PS3? Haha, guess the PS3 version is better for RB2. I have all his songs, they are pretty good, would probably buy his others if they come out.

In Australia, yeah, Sambo. Were it not for our silly censorship board, Xbox would get ALL the RBN stuff but the PS3 only a tiny sliver.
(Ah, I can but hope to get My Beige Bear on Rock Band 3. Life will not be complete until I have pretend rocked out about the wisdom of old teddy-bears and the perfidy of indigo monkeys.)

XNA Creator's Club only refers to the tools you need to use to create and review content for RBN.
It's not out in Australia because Rock Band 2 isn't released here and adding it would only benefit a very small population of players.
That being said, US Gamertag + US Points =
(I bought Ikea... great song) _________________

I'm jealous, Eyce. Glad at least one guy is getting them.
I'm actually surprised he hasn't released "I'm a Mason Now" and "Devolving". Both have really fun guitar.

Why be jealous??? Simply create yourself a new hotmail account with a US postal address (make up a street somewhere in Beverly Hills, 90210. Google a business in Beverly Hills and use their phone number - try the Beverly Hills Hotel).
Create a new profile on your XBox linking it to your new hotmail address and voila - a US gamertag. Then, go to somewhere like maximuscards.com and buy yourself some US MS points with your PayPal account.
Then load up RB2 whilst logged into your US account and buy whatever you want from the Rock Band Network. Anything you buy is locked to the console rather than the gamertag, so once you have purchased your tracks you are free to play them on your aus gamertag.

Some RBN songs are on the PS3 version of RB2 now. If you go to Music Store, you can choose between the normal store or the Rock Band Network store. A bit stupid that there is an Australian RBN store when RB2 isn't even out yet.

Sorry but I don't believe that's not true. As others have mentioned, Harmonix used the XNA Creator Club as their basis for RBN and as such you must have the ability to obtain games through the Indie Channel of the marketplace. Since the Indie Channel is not available in Australia, Aussies are not able to get RBN stuff. It might well be that RB1 doesn't show RBN but that's not the technical reason for Aussies being unable to get to it.
You're right though about US Gamertag/points - I have done the same thing.
Harmonix stated that any songs that prove to be popular on the RBN would also be subsequently released on PS3. This will only happen for those songs that sell well but there isn't anything I know of that states what "popular" means. _________________ GAMEparents

As far as I'm know, the DLC that's released for Rock Band each week isn't rated by the OFLC, which explains the Indie Games... But wouldn't it make the RBN songs likely to fall onto the same boat as the DLC? It seems slightly more logical that they haven't released it out for here because the game isn't released here- Try accessing the Rock Band Network store on your Australian account. Essentially crashes the game and puts on an endless loop of that main menu background.
RB1 doesn't show the RBN songs because it doesn't have the backend built into Rock Band 2, and makes it easier on the companies charting songs so then they don't need to think how the song would play without forced Hammer On/Pull Offs. _________________

I read it is because the XNA thing isn't in Australia. PS3 users finally get something on RB that 360 users don't

I haven't tried with an Aussie account -will do.
But the way it was explained to me was that the RBN content is being released through the Indie Games Channel and XNA Creator Club - hence why they come out exclusively on Xbox first. But I'm happy for me to be wrong.
NOT happy that Oz still doesn't have RB2 or Indie Games, but happy for me to be wrongabout why RBN doesn't work here. _________________ GAMEparents

Not sure about the lack of XNA Creator Club - I've got an educational subscription happening on my Australian account, which allows me to play .rba files in the audition mode, which is kinda fun.
I know RBN uses the XNA framework to allow content to be put up, but it isn't accessed through the Indie Games channel on the Xbox- It's just either direct links from rockband.com onto xbox.com's Rock Band 2 information page, or the in-game music store. _________________
