Hello all,

I'm after some advice.

I'm considering buying a PSP.

If you were going to buy a used PSP 3000, preferably silver, where would you get it from, other than EB?

Id porbably go for either bigw/kmart/jb though, they seem to have the most bonuses.

Let me put this another way. Where wouldn't you buy one from? Also, if you had to choose between a PSP 3000 or iPod Touch, which one would you get?

I would prefer the iPod touch; due to it's easy navigation through web browsing; and endless amount of apps to try and buy icon_smile.gif You can never get bored of it icon_smile.gif

Really? I'm barely interested in the apps on my iphone. I pretty much use mine for web browsing, phone, email and music. 99.9% of apps I've tried have absolutely zero depth to them.

Thanks for the advice.

If you were going to buy a preowned one either from Cash Convertors, EB, or Ebay, which is the best option?

I'd say EB, as it comes with a warranty and is easily returned if need be. Not sure on Cash Convertors policies or warranties and buying online is always risky, as there is no warranty etc.

So, EB would be my recommendation.

Just be aware that getting a PSPGo devoids you of any UMD games. the current PSP library available fo rthe Go is, personally, tragic. If you like mainstream games that's fine, but there's a tonne of games out there on UMD only and most at really cheap prices. Especially if I can't play my Gundam vs Gundam Next Plus icon_wink.gif

Maybe wait till after E3. If they announce a PSP 2 the prices will drop for the PSP 1 models.

I'll use this topic so I don't need to create another one.

I was curious about the price of the PSP as I wanted to get one in the not so distant future (I have had big purchases lately which halt it, mostly the PC).

However, I went walking around the Sydney CBD today, dropped by a few game stores EBGames, JB and Game(Galleries Victoria and QVB). None of them actually has any PSP boxes on display. This lack of display boxes of PSP scares me as I was the PSP 3000 to get the best of both worlds, a UMD drive (I can borrow PSP games off my other half, which is the main reason I don't want the Go!) and just get a MS for online stuff.

Any news as to if the PSP is discontinued? stock issues?

There are rumours going around about a PSP 2, but my local EB didn't know anything about it. Some websites are speculating that the PSP 2 will be announced in September at the Toyko Game Show.

I bit the bullet and bought a PSP 3000 from someone on these forums. There was no way I'd buy one brand new.

They are everywhere in Melbourne, haven't heard anything about them being discontinued. The PSP2/PSP-4000 is still just a rumour as far as I'm aware. Did you look behind the counter at any of those stores? Our JBs have stacks of them where they keep all the games.

Avoid the PSPgo. You are better off with a PSP 3000 or lower.

Where to buy? Try Amazon. I got robbed on Ebay because of fake sellers.

Judging by your flag you're probably unaware of this - but most of us here cannot purchase electronics from Amazon due to their shipping policies.
