From the review, it sounds as though it does what most movie games SHOULD do. It's nothing special, but it's not completely broken (as too many movie games tend to be) and captures the atmosphere of the film.
But I really think they've killed this series by swamping us with too many sequels in too short a time. Maybe if there were only 2 or 3 Saw movies out currently, I'd be more interested in this.

Generous score. I rented it out at Christmas time last year and I personally give it a 5.5 out of 10.
Graphically, it looks decent. The traps can be a little fun and creative but are often repetitive. Combat system is horribly unresponsive and there's not a great deal of difference between a weak strike and a strong strike.
The game could benefit from a much more fleshed out story and a nice change of scenery since basically wherever you currently are is likely to look exactly like where you were five minutes prior. Often, the fuses you need are sort of right next to the doors where you have to use them to unlock the door, feels like more of a way of stretching out the length of the game with unnecessarily boring rhetoric. I don't see any replay value in this game at all other than the trophies, which aren't enough to entice me.
They could have made this game a lot better though but I guess it's not that bad considering the track record for movie-to-game conversions. If the controls were a lot better, the ideas behind this game could make for a decent online multiplayer romp considering in some of the movies they have scenes where multiple people are slogging it out for survival, whether teaming up or betraying people to save themselves.
Though I'm sure the OFLC might have some words against a mode like that.
I will say one thing, this game proved that either the staff at JB don't play many games or their game reviews are fudged for sales. They gave this game 5/5 stars, guess it's no surprise since they seemed to be the only store stocking the game.

I like the "Manhunt" aspects of killing the minions with a fair selection of weapons and the atmosphere/lighting is very well done. But the puzzles seem to be the weak part continually killing the flow of this game.
