Not really liking the lack of Zerg love. Hopefully there will be more when it's released.
| Quote: | | Needs area of effect, anti-air attacks |
I find this amusing. Only zerg units that do splash are banelings and muta. Both of which die really easily and are easy to counter.
And now Protoss and Terran have main buildings that can protect themselves. Why doesn't zerg? I reckon lair upgrade should provide 1 or 2 "spine crawlers" in it, so it can attack. Then lair give is 2/3 of them. I would also say it should be able to attack anywhere that it's creep is connected to, but that's probably too op.
Banelings moving underground will be good. Hydra move speed.... I would have preferred an upgrade to allow them to attack while burrowed. Removes them being able to attack air, and probably only 3 or 4 range, but would be a lot more useless imo.
New corruptor ability... Don't really see a use for it. Sure, it's nice to damage buildings and get money for it, but in the long run I doubt it will really change much, and still make corruptors next to useless except for taking out colossus.

I love that banelings and ultras will be mobile while burrowed. The problem with both is trying to get them into the fray without dying immediately. Think huge mass marines vs burrowed banes and underground charging ultras! They're going to be way more cost effective.
For the corruptors, I can think of two uses for their new ability. When you've killed off their army and are trashing bases, the corruptors can now help, instead of just idling there like the flying blobs they are. Also they will be useful for harassment, instead of or alongside mutalisks.
Your lair/hive/spine idea is cool, but yeah way OP. Can you imagine 3-4 lairs and a hive on a massive creep? Nothing would be able to walk on it. You'd need to siege attack the creep tumours from off creep. Overlord creep highways would become sneak attacks.
I'm hoping zerg get a third new unit. Something impressive. Terrans are getting a huge AoE buzzsaw thing and a mega-Thor. Protoss are getting three really cool units. Zerg's getting a new lurker-broodlord and some weird flying-defiler thing that seems to pull units around the map (I don't really "get" this unit yet). Needs something else... Queen upgrades would be good

I think the Protoss AoE air is going to be "replacing" both the mothership and carrier. It's going to be big, expensive and probably slow. The only real counter that P had to mass muta was archons and templar, I guess Blizzard felt they needed more. _________________

Hmm, true. And they kept saying it's all still work in progress, so will no doubt change before it's released.

Just hit Diamond!
I remember starting this game wondering wtf was going on when Cloaked banshees murdered me, that scans were the dumbest thing ever and I thought that 20 void rays and 10 carriers were so imba and protoss was impossible to beat. How things have changed.
Before, I did a really nice tank timing against a zerg and calmly split my marines without missing a worker. Improvement is a great feeling.
Protoss getting cheaper ups now makes me scared for late game 3/3/3 zealots that wont ever.ever.ever die. Need my battle helion asap!

Grats Cramsy! Huzzah for the new season hey? We should 1v1 sometime
I don't get why they're making protoss upgrades cheaper, do they really lose that much?

I should really get back into the main game. Just been playing SotiS and Tower Defence lately.
Played the odd 4v4, and I can tell I've lost all my progress. Probably back to Gold or Silver. Missing lava injects and getting over 1k income. But i think that could be attributed to mainly 1 basing longer then normal.

I'm up for team games whenever Shadow!
We should start having a regular PALGN Starcraft II night. Every Monday 9pm Eastern? _________________

Sounds good to me.
Just played my 4v4 placement. Was Gold last season. 3 Zerg and a Terran vs Zerg, 2 Toss and a Terran. And they were Favoured. Because we had 3 Zergs, we rushed, but it failed. So then it turned into a macro game. of course, their Zerg went muta, luckily they attacked the other side, so I could get some defence up. Managed to get creep spread into their naturals, which made my mass Hydras basically **** everything in their path.
Which placed me into Plat.

Just played 5 placements with hotmustardsauce. Epic games, we ranked in as diamond 2v2 =)
Last game is my fave. Pity mustard got trashed at the start, but I got broodlords. So worth it! _________________

I've been going terrible in 2v2. Lost them all so far. 50% of the time it's because my ally is either heaps shit, or just protects himself. The other 50% is me having shit macro/micro, or simple build order losses/not scouting.

True. I'm almost back to where I was, but I may have to go into 1v1 to really get back/improve. But i don't want to lose my plat league, so I may have to do it on NA.
We still up for the PALGN SC night tonight?
So, I finally decided to get back into the 1v1 after lots, and lots of 4v4. Must say, I did fairly well, but i don't think the dude I was playing against was platinum. And if he was, then I must have improved heeeaps without actually playing in months. But maybe all that SotiS has made my micro better.

I've not played SC2 in a like a week. And I've been playing my PS3 for most of that. Dark Souls and Uncharted 3 are keeping me away from SC2! Plus my wife's birthday was last week, so we were out late for dinner like every damn night =P
Will grab you next time I'm on my PC for a game. _________________

Yes! Finally beat a hatch first build.
This time I decided not to play behind and expand when I saw they went hatch first, and made mass lings. He obviously saw it, because he had 2 queens and 3 crawlers at the front. I just ran bye and took out his main hatch. Then I pulled out with half the lings remaining, and expanded, and knew the game was mine. I did a roach push, but he managed to hold. Then I did a roach infestor push against his roach muta, and raped him.

Reviving Starcraft with a story.
Playing on my SEA account hoping to get it up to Diamond like my US one. Lately, I've really started to improve my marine splits as target fire with tanks against zerg.
So I'm playing against this guy on Shakuras and things are going pretty well. I'm sniping hatcheries and not getting totally run over when I push at him.
All of a sudden my laptop goes flip book on me and my FPS crashes down to the freaking single digits at one point. Thinking it might be lag for him as well I type 'sec sorry' and pause the game.
I tab out and close all this crap (Last.fm, steam, itunes, chrome, virus program was updating as well) by the time my laptop crunches through my frantic closing due to the hardcore adrenalin it takes about a minute or so.
I tab back in and the bastard resumed the game AS SOON AS I TABBED OUT. So now I'm a full minute behind on my macro and pretty annoyed.
I proceed to stick to my guns, split, counter ultras and win the game. He leaves without a GG.
Get outta here son.
(sorry about giant images)

So I'm seeing a resurgence of interest in SC2 lately. I've been playing pretty frequently, Shadow's been on, MrCool's been on, I've even seen hotmustardsauce on.
We should get a big FFA going again sometime _________________

I still play daily, but mainly on the NA server. Always keen to play FFA as every time I try searching for it, everyone leaves straight away.
