If you look on GameFAQs there is more people having some kind of problem than not:
- Chapters not ending
- Events not activating
- TV screens not playing
- Loud static noise
- General freezing
- Save game corruption
- Getting stuck on things such as stairs
The list goes on and on and on. This may be the glitchiest game EVER!!
And if I experience anything such as your problem I will be taking this thing back, demanding a refund and never touching it again.
There is no way, NO WAY, they didn't find some/all these problems in QA. It is unacceptable laziness coupled with, probably, a rush to release. _________________

my only issue so far is the tv didn't actually play anything. Everything else has been fine since then..
Graphically the game is OK.. its definitely not what it was hyped up to be. Got fairly large frame rate drops as well. Also the crowd scenes the AI reacts ridiculous. But its all forgivable.
The one thing that I really dislike is the fake you have to hold R2 to move... yet the left stick actually has no other function besides moving... so why didn't they just let you use the stick to move on the first place without holding down the damn button? grr _________________ http://bencadphotography.com/

Perhaps it is a good thing I am getting the game later down the line, to give them a chance to sort out these glitches. _________________

I think they did the controls that way so that the frequent sudden camera angle changes don't don't mess up the direction you walk in. That was an issue in Fahrenheit, where you'd be walking north for example, then the camera suddenly faces south and you end up heading back the way you came. I much prefer it the way HR does it. It takes a little time to get used to, but there's far less of the above issue.
Speaking of confusing controls

I just kept pushing up 100 times cursing at the game until I realised you should press down as the indicator is pointing down from Ethans perspective. Boy did I feel like an idiot, but it was a clever part and had me smiling. |

I doubt anyone would call this part a spoiler; so I had to send the kid to bed without dinner to be able to continue the game.

Actually the left stick moves your characters head left or right when stationary so the left stick can't be used for turning your head AND turning left and right while walking. _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

Scratch that. After many a phone call, I managed to hunt down the last one in Brighton. That case is something nice. Totally worth the extra pain... >_>

Well I hit my first angry game breaking glitch...
The game would refuse to let me pass complete 2 quick time events.. (the ones where you have to hold down increasing amounts of buttons)
The first time It ended up that I just failed a sequence (sadly) and moved onto the 'crap' ending for the character and the game kept going.
Then the next chapter It did the same thing, but the game would not let me continue until it was completed.
All it wanted me to do was hold Triangle down.. and about 1/3 through the process it goes red and makes me start over... again and again and again!
So I turned the damn machine off and i'll try again tomorrow and hope that a patch is out! _________________ http://bencadphotography.com/

Finished the game. I'd give it a 8/10. It is different and refreshing.
Some parts of the story could of have been so much better but it was overall a decent game.
Trophy cleanup now... I got 28 trophies so far in one play through. _________________

Well I picked up my copy today at eb after trading in aheap of games. Bought the last copy of Heavy Rain so it must be doing OK. I also put the remainder of my credit on the god of war 3 CE. After hearing about these glitches I might shelf it and finish Mass Effect 2 untill a patch is released _________________

This is the internet. People exaggerate really badly on it like it is the worst thing ever and the game cannot be run. And there is already a patch already. It is over 220mb!
I have encountered a few glitches at the beginning of the game where the game sort of froze/lagged which made the audio out of sync. That was about 20 minutes in. From there, it has been pretty flawless to me and I have finished it in just a little over 8 hours.
Don't listen to the glitch fest bitching of people.

I just played for about three hours. I installed the patch right away and didn't play it before that. I experienced absolutely no glitches of any kind. No crashing, no audio sync or skipping problems and the TV part worked fine too... After reading all the problems here and on GameFAQs I was worried but I guess I got lucky...!
The graphics in this game are such a strange mixed bag...! Some of it is spectacular and some of it is downright terrible. The animation too. The guy you play first, the animation he displays when walking around naked, his muscles and everything moving is just incredible, but then you see him park his car and its so jerky and horrid it looks like a PSone game...
Overall the presentation is excellent though. It's exceeded my expectations (which admittedly werent high) so far. Especially the music and sound effects, they are outstanding. _________________

Yeah well that patch did shit all for me.The glitch I talked about that stopped me from continuing happened in EXACTLY the same place 3 times with the patch and once without the patch. If it wasn't for the fact that I could skip that section then I would have had a $120 frizbee. _________________ Welcome to the internet. I've been playing for a little over 4 hours now and have had no problems at all. My only frustration has been with the motion controls (the Dualshock just isn't a Wii Remote). Other than that, I've been having a good time. I downloaded the patch before starting the game, btw. _________________

Bought it (due to boredom, I don't have anything to play atm till FFXIII). Trade 3 games in @ JB. Happy with that.
LOVE IT. Wow. It's exactly the style of game I wanted to play. It feels like Police Quest mixed in with Under a Killing Moon. I LOVE the rain and the police lights.
Voice acting, mixed bag. But I certainly think the director has done a good job of portraying emotion.
Funny thing. I was playing the game, in the dark, very loudly. Certainly scene and my system goes <CRACK> and the screen goes black, making an awful noise through the speakers. Scared me half to death. I thought WOW, that's awesome, I love it when games do that. I sat there for about 10 minutes and then realized my PS3 died....
Luckily a hard reboot fixed it and it kept my saved game. _________________ Shin J Leon.

frame rate stutters, lock ups, sound cut outs, glitches and the list goes on, kinda feels unplayable. I'm wondering if GAME will let me return it as defective or not as advertised and get a refund even though i did the redeem code
Oh on that node my redeem code didn't even give me my sound track
All in all pretty frustrating.

Strange. The only problem I've had is with a few jagged camera movements while it's doing cutscenes. I'm running it on a launch 60GB as well, without downloading the patch. (I'm capped anyway..)
@spanx - As it says in the other thread, the soundtrack is delayed. You need to get another code from the website.

I have had no problems, including the dinner thing, and I too am on a 60GB Launch and *do* have the patch.
There seems no pattern to this, really... Although the only other thing I can say (which seems unlikely to affect anything) is that I was playing offline. _________________
