If it's of any interest. Bajo from Good Game is playing Heavy Rain right now, but he can't talk to me about it until Tuesday. He said to tweet him then. He did say this though on a tweet.
"Is being genuinely upset on some sort of level by a game in the first 20 minutes, hats off to Heavy Rain".
With that said, I think the EU boxart looks nicer. Kinda adds a sense of mystery, which this game seems to have a lot of. _________________

I think the European boxart is quite classy. Simplistic, but serves its purpose no doubt. _________________

Looks like the preview disks have been going out quite a bit.
Joystiq and Kotaku both have there own previews up.
I'm sure other sites will have them up aswell. _________________

Is it just me, or does she look a little like the girl from "the casting" video?
I hope the character/voice actress is in it somewhere. She did a fantastic job in the scene. _________________

I can't wait for this game, my only problem graphically is that the eyes look so dead, it's wierd, because the eyes certainly look like they've been modelled correctly but they just don't seem to have any life in them, maybe there is truth to the whole people having souls crap that gets spouted.

^It's the lighting imo. The specular highlights and reflectivity/refraction of our eyes is very hard to replicate accurately in 3D. Modeling and texturing isn't so bad, but when it comes to how it reflects light and such, it's tricky to get 'right'. Also to me they look too 'straight', as in it's all very thousand yard stare. Eyes are never perfectly straight like that.
They have fantastic texturing on the skin though, looking really nice. _________________

I remember my friend saying people will never look real in games, as skin isn't all one colour in real life, like it is in games. Then this gets announced. Can't wait for this, not enough story based games.

Skin is never the same 'colour' in games, there are several tones in it unless it's built to be a cartoony game. It's achieved by artists painting the UV's of the textures manually. I've seen it first hand and do it myself on my own work. _________________

It looks the goods to me, after seeing screenshots of a game being released on the current generation I really see no need for an upgrade anytime soon _________________

Looking like a great game, BUT, they have released way too much media in my opinion. They might aswell just show us the whole game, theres already a gazillion screenshots around the web, and a least 2 hours of footage, I'm hoping they haven't ruined the game for us is all. _________________

I've got this one in my rental list, but I can't see it being replayable enough to be worth buying. I'm taking the hype with a pinch of salt - with Fahrenheit, everyone was talking about it being a truly interactive movie, when in actual fact the game was hugely linear. I also hope they've sorted out the wonky facedness issue that put the original trailer slap bang in the middle of the uncanny valley. Remember... this?

That's what total media blackouts are for
I haven't watched a single video of the game in months. I think the last thing I watched was the Taxidermist's trailer, and I'm hearing that's not even in the game. All I needed to sell me on Heavy Rain was knowing David Cage is behind it.
Yes, Fahrenheit went into Batsh!t Insane Country right at the end but all signs seem to be pointing at Heavy Rain not following suit. Dude knows his stuff. _________________

Well I only watch/look at very little on games now.I've only seen the original trailer, some trailer on a disc that came with the PS mag and the nudity video.
I practically know nothing about this game so I don't even know if I want to play it. _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

It has been stated many times that Heavy Rain will firmly stay in the realm of reality. So don't worry. _________________

It wasn't Cages fault either with Farenheit.
Farenheit was meant to be a trilogy except they couldn't find a publisher at the time. Then they found Atari and they only agreed to fund one game.
Cage had to re-write the entire 2/3rds of the game, that's why it got messed up.
Heavy Rain will be my GOTY for 2010. I don't think it will rate highly though or sell a huge amount of copies.

Apparently the collectors edition will have a holographic cover with rain drops 'falling' down on the front of the case. I thought that sounded quite cool, I may have to preorder this one

Video has been removed. And why does nudity in games surprise you. Games are becoming more like movies, more realistic etc, so it would happen.
