so, i had a 10% off voucher for Sendit, so i went to preorder SR3 (they were a tad dearer before discount than TheHut) - shipping is now £4.48 per item with them.

so i go off to TheHut who have £.99 shipping still, but it kept tacking on another £.99 charge when i was going through paypal to finalize my order.

eventually preordered from Zavvi - same price as TheHut but they don't sneakily tack on extra charges when paying via paypal.

TL;DR - uk importers are slowly becoming a pack of bastards

dick smith might put it at $69 in a couple of weeks since they are setting BF3 at that price. I'm waiting for after christmas, generally big blockbuster titles drastically decrease in price when the first explosions of sales finish.

If anyone does pickup Battlefield 3 tomorrow, head into JB and keep an eye out for the deal with Rage, which you can purchase for $39 within the same transaction as BF3 on any platform.

Locally, Dungeon Crawl are selling it for ~ $76.50. I'm not sure if that price is pre-order only or not. You can easily pick it up day 1 if you live in Melbourne, or free delivery anywhere in Australia.

Locally, Dungeon Crawl are selling it for ~ $76.50. I'm not sure if that price is pre-order only or not. You can easily pick it up day 1 if you live in Melbourne, or free delivery anywhere in Australia.


Big W will have it for $74.97 on launch.

They're also selling Battlefield 3 for $68 on consoles and will have Modern Warfare 3 at $78 on consoles.

Not really a "bargain" so much, but a new site called Indie Royale has a bundle of games ( Sanctum, Nimbus, Gemini Rue and A.R.E.S ) with an interesting pay model. Currently at 2.85$

JB Hi Fi are doing a deal on Battlefield 3. Buy the game, and RAGE from them in one transaction, and you'll get RAGE for $39. It doesn't mention anything about price matching, so you could possibly match the $79 that most places are charging, and get RAGE for a grand total of $118. Not too shabby for two new releases.

Yeah, seems like importing from the UK will STILL be cheaper.

The 360 Wireless N adaptor for $79 seemed decent. Probably cheaper at Play-Asia though.

As I've been complaining on Twitter, the Mighty Ape sale seems to be broken:

- AU page shows same prices as NZ page (NZ prices are usually higher due to their lower dollar), meaning some things are displayed even more expensive than their usual MightyApe price
- When you add something to your cart on the AU page it adds it at normal price, not the sale price
- Can't check out through NZ site to be shipped to Australia, at least I couldn't

YMMV but it looks like I wasted time looking at the sale icon_razz.gif
