Wow some of you guys are really harsh on kratos. Thought his motivation in the end was really good. I didn't see the need to overthink it. The plot is pretty pulpy as is. I thought he resolved himself well, the end was fitting and if there's a GOW IV, I'm really interested to see where they're going to take it.

GOW 4 really needs to go back to the drawing board and re-invent the game. It's waaaaaaaayyyy to similar across 3 games.

would it really matter dude ? i mean in the end you'd just trade it in right ? the fans lapped it up , the only problems i had with god of war 3 was :

the jumps not register , wasn't problem for me in the other games
at the start you had limited combos and having played the PSP game a few days before felt reptive for like the first hour

, the plot was pretty easy to guess it was just how it unfolded that matterd and it had to happen its just a shame that they didn't take things up a notch in-terms of the story it was pretty simple ,

there was something else i forgot but even with all those faults its a keeper for me.

Downloaded the demo, it was a long demo, one of the longest I have played. But then, it was also one of the biggest I have downloaded. It is pretty good, but it is too violent at times. Some of the things he does, well, I'm sure you all know. When he ripped the eye out of that thing, I actually cringed a bit, which I have never done playing any game before. I might end up buying the collection of all three one day though, they seem like alright games.

But I can't believe something like this gets through with an MA, when Left 4 Dead 2 can't, which is extremely tame in comparison.

It was one of the funniest uses of QTEs I've seen though. I lolled.

I just finished this today, ended up taking me around 9 hours and I only missed 1 Minotaur Horn. Just a bit longer than it took me to finish the 1st, while the 2nd took me about 14 hours. Still, I was pretty happy with the length, as the pacing was great, though the last third was definitely the weakest part of the game in my opinion.

There are so many memorable moments in the game it's crazy, mostly revolving around the awesome-as-usual boss fights. Pretty much eclipses anything from the previous 2 (though I have a soft spot for the Colossus fight in number 2). The only thing I thought was lacking was more epic environments. I reckon the first 2 games have it beat in that regard.

Bloody great game though, and I loved the new moves/weapons (love the chain grapple), and the brutal combat just made it great fun, one of the few games where ripping an enemies head off pumps you up icon_lol.gif . Honestly, the only complaint I can level at the game is during puzzles. Like with the previous games, it has a habit of zooming the camera in on where you need to go, or the next part of the puzzles, almost eliminating the satifaction of figuring out what to do yourself. It seemed even more prevalent here, with the camera staying focused on the next part for way too long when you just want to get to it yourself. I don't know what more to add, I think everyone has already said everything. Just an awesome game, and a great ending to one of the best action series of all time.

How long did you all punch Zeus in the face for before you realised you had to stop to advance the game? Took me about 2 minutes of mashing O before I realised icon_redface.gif . I blame the game though, the O indicator was still on the screen...

Also, what was the section of the ending Stig (the director) was bragging about? I recall him saying that something at the end of the game will surprise players and have us talking about it for a long time to come. Or something along those lines. I'm just curious as to what he was alluding to.

PS. Also, very good implemention of QTE's. At first I thought they were crap displaying at the edges of the screen, especially after Heavy Rain, but I reckon they're the best use of them yet once you get used to them. And it's pretty cool how many unlockables there are. I'll definitely be spending some time doing all the Challenges. And there's a ton of Making-of videos too. I only watched the Voice-acting one, and that alone went for like 10 minutes.

Look me about 2 minutes too, I thought the game crashed haha. I think the ending thing they were bragging about may have been the part after the credits. (Ending Spoilers) blood trail leading to the sea suggesting Kratos ain't dead End spoiler.

Shame afterwards it drops quite a bit, but picks up further on.

US, April 1, 2010 - During this morning's MI6 conference, an annual gathering of videogame marketing executives, Sony's VP Of Marketing Peter Dille stated God of War III had sold 1 million units in "just a couple days" after the game launched.

Dille did not specify whether those were North America sales or worldwide. God of War III launched first in North America on March 16 followed by Europe and Australia on March 18 and 19.

This should make for an impressive first-month sales debut once official numbers begin to hit. NPD, which tracks U.S. videogame retail sales, will release its March results next Thursday, April 8. Other titles released in March, such as Final Fantasy XIII, are also expected to lead console software sales.

congrats to sony santa monica for their monster hit!

Perhaps the Gods could be resurrected in modern time, something like the bonus video from GOW 1.

So many possibilities.

That is good news.
Now I'm just waiting for sidekick to neg your post for no reason like he has for pretty much any other post in this thread. They really should find something better to do.

someone put a song to the GOW3 intro and its an amazing fit. The way it ended, some of the beats and what's happening on screen are perfectly synced.

neat.

It is a very Bond link opening theme, I'm surprised it seems to have taken anyone thing long to do it.

Rather than create another topic(because this is sougtha related) but has anyone else here purchased the US Ultimate edition and managed to redeem the Unearthing the Legend Documentry? I keep getting a "This content cannot be redeemed on your account" error and i've tried using a US and Canadian Proxy(if it is indeed an IP locked file) and activating the Video service on my US account, both of which have not worked. It's soughta weird because the DLC codes and the Soundtrack Codes redeemed fine, but this isn't....

I know it's going to be a thing i'm only going to watch once or twice but i still want what i paid for(It's already available on US PSN for $6 icon_confused.gif). Any help would be greatly appreciated as it's slowly starting to piss me off.
