I really HATE QTE. The God of War games are the only games I've managed to tolerate that have QTE.

Yeah that was annoying, especially if you took all the paths for the extra red orbs. Situations like that just scream laziness to me because it's just difficulty for the sake of difficulty.

amen to that and also in that game where you have to find parts of this robot thing. there scattered all over worlds, its so shit

Dark Brain, just...Dark Brain. Insane HP count mixed with 30%/turn passive health regen does not make a good final(-ish) boss. Very irritating to fight against.

Gears of War 1: Berserker. What were they thinking? I've just spent two hours with my trigger finger locked down, mowing down scores of ugly lizard men, never uttering a word below 120dB, and now I have to... let me get this straight...

I have to be...

QUIET?

How did this garbage get past the playtesters? Sneaking around while wearing two hundred kilograms of four inch thick wrought iron armour, 'fighting' an enemy impervious to damage. OK, so you don't necessarily need to sneak, you can just run to the destructible doors and dodge out of the way, but then you have to deal with Dom's pathetic AI standing in the doorways as the Berserker beats his face in over and over. I played the sequel first, and going from ten straight hours of glorious 80s action movie to the suckfest that was the first game was an awful experience.

Gears 2 on insane how some of the most annoying vehicle parts ever conceived by man. Add in that the unskippable cutscene and it becomes a nightmare.

Also I hate in games where your allies AI gets them killed. It shouldn't happen

Totally disagree, the two Berserker parts in Gears were awesome, they changed up the gameplay in a goodway for once and actually added a small amount of strategy. It also attempted to ad some horror to a game which is meant to be somewhat scary (at least I think it's meant to be).

A really annoying bit in Zelda on Wii when every time you load a game it tells you the value of each colour rupie you pick up. How this got through R&D I shall never know, but it royaly pissed me off.

Not being able to skip pick up animations in modern adventure titles.

I get it, I got a key, why are you playing music and pausing the game for half an hour just to tell me this?

^ that actualy reminds me of something i hate, When the shits meant to be hitting the fan, things are about to fall apart/blow up, but you still have time to go to the WALK to the other side of the spacship/building, pick up the items you missed, befor exiting the area 'in the nick of time'. Theres no urgency, and in turn, no drama.

Last I checked, Fission Metroids shift their resistances and weaknesses around alot, that's what makes them so irritating. I usually just power bombed the room several times to get around them.

Not so much moments, but in general:

Games with poorly implemented save systems get me the most. When you’ve managed to do something awesome after 100 attempts and you end up dying or somehow stuffing up without being able to save. Adding to that, if there are long waiting times between a really annoying part and your death, to when you can go again. There’s nothing worse than stuffing up on something extremely difficult in a few seconds only to need to wait 5 minutes to have another crack and probably get the same outcome.

And unbalanced games. I tend to drop them really quick, but it just irks me that so many don’t take the time to get it right.

A crap camera.

Autosave features which can completely ruin your progress. Most recent example would be Shadow Complex.

When an expensive piece of plastic crap fails you time and time again. GHWT drum set is what I’m referring to.

RPG’s with achievements/trophies like “Collect all of the 1 billion chests scattered throughout the universe”, and finishing with 99%, essentially forcing you to use a guide.

Shit AI partner which can ruin just about everything. Stuff like RE5 and Gears are great examples.

Rubberband AI in racers. Mostly the NFS series. While we’re here, random cars which tend to pull out in front of you just at the right moments, bringing your race to an end.

Glitched or expired achievements which are unattainable. Surprisingly, Need for Speed Carbon has both.

Devs who don’t fix their games + leaderboards where cheating is evident.

Trials HD. Not because it’s broken in any way, but because getting Platinum medals can lead to so much frustration. And it’s a learning process, one which is left almost entirely to the player. Some parts are very hard, and they’re made even harder if you don’t know what you’re doing.

The main culprits (but not limited to):
- Ninja Gaiden 2
- Bionic Commando
- Star Ocean: TLH
- NFS: Carbon
- Shadow Complex

Just needed to get that off my chest. There’s other stuff, but I should probably stop for now.

DEAD RISING. omg...I have never gotten so frustrated with a game, I eventually threw the case at the wall and made use of my 7 day satisfation guarantee at EB...first time I refused to finish a game out of frustration.

Basically, the save points were firstly ridiculous, secondly, the survivors...when your trying to rescue them, and lead them back to the safe house is unbelievably frustrating.

Anything involving a well timed or aimed jump always screws me. You know that new Mario ad on tv? Well that's what it sounds like when I play the first Mario game and I die 75% of the time at that very first hole in the ground icon_eek.gif (and people wonder why I hate Mario/platformer games...)

Getting a time of 2:05 on Facility in GoldenEye 007, on 00 Agent. Without getting the CHEAT UNLOCKED text. It's a wonder I actually went back to that game soon after and eventually unlocked it. My God, that really was a bastard to get.

Perfect Dark save file self-erasing after less than a month of owning the game.

I'm sure many more moments will come to mind; sometimes gaming gives me a real temper.

Still baffles me some people say this guy was hard. I finished this game on all difficulties in under a week and RAAM to me was an utter pansy.

Also, irritation for me has to go to Banjo: Nuts and Bolts. I build all these cool vehicles, and then the next day it erases my save files. Woo.

Not impossible to put up with by any means but still rather annoying.

Playing Dissidia in story mode as a character such as Squall that is best at close range attacks and being pitted against a boss (or other random battle piece) that excels at ranged attacks, makes it pretty difficult to get in close and when you finally do you need to build up bravery first, which will likely be taken away by a ranged attack shortly after icon_mad.gif

This is what made me quit the first 3 or 4 times. Doing some form of gather quest in outlands, being 4 *insert item here* from finishing *insert quest here* and getting ganked and camped.
Ninja'ing in WoW.
Made me quit WoW several times also, just because a druid can not possibly have any need epic warrior plate armor. Fuck i hate pug's.
