Did they plug their PS3's into a tree to rehabilitate them?
Honestly, I'm none too surprised. Never underestimate the power of human stupidity.
Has society really become so intolerable of our children and so apathetic that the solution to 'keeping the kids' quiet in the aftermath of a terrible tragedy is to sit them in front of their TVs. TVs running off your 2-stroke driven, smelly, backup generator.
I mean, haven't their parents bought them PSP's yet? Idiots.

You'd think the smell of the generator would warn you it's polluting the air. Maybe think to open a window? Although that too might not be a good idea in a hurricane.

Amazing. Middle of a hurricane, and you're sitting there playing LittleBigPlanet (for example), you fail to notice that the air around you is thickening with noxious gases and say to yourself "I'll just finish this next level, and then I'll go outside for a breath of oxygen".
I am terrified of what this world will become. Hell, if I was in the middle of a hurricane I'd be watching it, not choking myself on CO.
