"Motion control will extend 360's life until 2015"
I literally lol'd.
Benza's right, you don't notice graphics aging untill a few years later. I remember being amazing by graphics in mario 64. I remember thinking that graphics couldn't get much better than THPS3 on GCN and then when I played RE4 I wondered why companies were even bothering to release good consoles. That's on of the main reasons I didn't think the Wii would need great graphics, becuase I honostly didn't think that this gen would be much better. _________________

I think i remember reading an interview from Bill Gates and he was asked a question when do you start working on the next console, (this was right after 360 launched) he said well they are going on a holiday for now but they will be back to work on the new one. No chance in hell it will extend the life till 2015. I will be pissed if they do! _________________

Hey Benza, you are right , its a very bold statement. However, you have to ask what the main demographic for the xbox is. Xbox gamers are (typically speaking) seen as more hardcore gamers than the Wii players. Hell i have a wii, but i cant remember last time i used it. I just cant get out of my head that this will just be a more advanced version of the Sony Eyetoy crossed with the functionality of a wii-mote. Both had their limitations, and at least from my point of view, both got tired very quickly.
I dont mean to start a massive debate or a flame war, i fully admit that until we see the full possibilities of project Natal it is hard to speculate, i simply will not get my hopes up that this will add any true extra dimension to gaming. _________________ It doesnt hurt once the pain goes away.

EXACTLY!
I really have to laugh at the people commenting that they will release a console sooner rather then later... It's crazyness.
Natal has the ability to make massive difference with the 360 as does Sony's venture into motion control (both i feel are superior too the wii mote even with motion plus but both probably wouldn't exist with out nintendo's efforts).
I cant wait too see how they can use these technologies and adapt them to the games I love playing already!! _________________

I am in favour of an extra 5 years of development time to iron out all those pesky hardware faults. The extra long console lives will also force developers to make their games better in areas other than graphics. I'd rather see better game-play elements such as AI and physics improvements rather than "YAY Mario's moustache is extra fuzzy and his overalls have texture!"

The thing is more processing power is required for this stuff too. Sure not every game is utilising it to it's fullest but AI and Physics don't just materialise out of thin air. _________________

I wouldnt mind if this gen lasted till 2015, they generally seem to have all these big ideas for the consoles that never get realised or come in at the end of the cycle, i want to see some of the ideas in this gen expanded upon.... _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Well I've never seen the 360 chug to a halt due to a CPU overload, I've only ever seen graphical glitches. Going by the theory behind the consoles I'd say the 360 would be close to approaching it's graphical limit (I'd like to see a revision with more memory and games with code that detect and boost itself with that like the N64 graphics pack) but having a bit of leeway on the CPU side, while the PS3 is approaching the CPU limit but still has a bit more graphics to go (Due to dedicated graphical memory). However not being an actual developer I don't know for certain.

2015 is wayyyyyyyy to long to wait imo, 2012/13 is the most likely outcome really any longer is just to long tbh. _________________ Wanna go to space?
