I hadnt heard of this movie until a couple of weeks ago when a friend directed me towards it, and after seeing the teaser site today I have to say im pretty excited for it. It looks like it might be a kiddish movie, but supposedly from test screenings theres a fair bit of violence as I think you see the humans being killed and some other stuff, so don't dismiss it as a childish movie. EDIT: Shane Acker is directing it, my mistake.
Its something to do with humans creating a synthetic robot brain, and they end up taking over and wiping out humanity with poison gas and building more robots etc, and these sack people/robots were made by the humans to fight the machines...something along those lines. Dont know the full story, but I think it looks incredibly unique and refreshingly different so I'm looking forward to it, anyone else interested in it?
The thing is that reviews from the test screenings weren't so good and supposedly the date for it is not absolute yet, hopefully they will improve it a bit until then but judging by the trailer I think it looks really good.[/i] _________________

Looks pretty swish, and it has a great collection of actors to do the voices, I'll definitely see this one.

SHANE ACKER MOTHER FUCKER!
Tim Burton is a prodcuder, Shane Acker is writing, directing, and animated and modeld the short film wich set the tone and visual style for the entire movie.
Tim Burton has basicly nothing to do with this and needs to stop being given credit for shit he doesn't do.
*Deep breath* ok enough of my hate for Burton but yeah this movie looks awesome, saw the short film back in uni and loved it and theres nothing I've seen in the trailers that looks to change my mind. _________________

Tim Burton puts his name on things and suddenly those things have the potential to be made.
The thing he's being credited for here is getting the film to exist. Which seems pretty important to me.
I like the use of Coheed in the trailer. _________________

Again, Burton only produced Nightmare Before Christmas although it is based on characters he devised so at least in that regard he had some idea of the style and look.
However here, he's merely handling the money and possibly throwing a bit of artistic suggestion in as well. But yeah, Acker should really get the credit for the visual aspects of this film and I forgot the writers name (turns out it's also Acker, whoops) but he's awesome too.

Thats exactly the reason...
Henry Sellick and Michael McDowell did Nightmare Before Christmas.
The most infuriating was seeing people credit Coraline with Burton despite the fact he had absolutly no involvement in the movie whatsoever. _________________

Coraline and Burton? Pfft. One person gets remembered for a particular art style and suddenly everyone is Tim Burton for 'feeling' similar. And it wasn't even his art style in the first place! Sheesh. I like the guy, but not that much.
This one really did sneak up on me, looks really good. I'm wondering if the test screening responses were based on confusion over the target audience more than the actual end product, certainly seems more adult in appeal, and there's certainly nothing wrong with that.

^ I couldn't stop thinking that the whole thing looked very game-like. Having said that, I love the style and love the idea of a more mature CGI animated film. Sign me up! _________________

Successful troll is successful. I know how much Benza hates Burton, purely for the fact that people keep saying he did Nightmare.

Didn't he write Nightmare Before Christmas?

Eh, I'm not really a Burton fan either. How would I know. _________________

Looks allright, no clues about the plot except for "it's the end of the world" and that these little sackboy-esque things have to do something epic during which they encounter monsters...
Being a fan of post-apocalyptic films I will definately see it, it certainly has potential to be good... _________________
