Loved the videos, nice finds, really wants me to get back into CoD4 again. I was really good once apon a time topping most games (pub HC of course, never got into clans too much).
Just a question, are those videos all on Xbox360? Don't remember it looking as swish on my comp despite running on all high settings. _________________ xfire = andylulz

Man not a fan of the hyper editing style on those videos, for the first two I could tell what the fuck was going on in a lot of it.
I know it would probbably be a hard ask since they lacked online, but man I'd love to see one of these articles on Goldeneye or Perfect Dark. _________________

They'd all be on PC. That kind of accuracy and flick shots is almost impossible on a controller. _________________

Great article Denny. You're really giving this feature series hands and feet. I agree that a retro article for titles such as GoldenEye, Perfect Dark and even Timesplitters would be a potentially fun read.
I'd really love to see one based on Battlefield 2 which is also one of my faves!

My god! How on Earth did that Stevy bloke pull that off?
I've always believed that no-scopes like that are generally luck more than skill.
But this bloke has skill in barrel fulls. They all looked legit, but he was simply fast.
Interesting that they let the opposition come to him, I've always been one for the "kamikaze" attitude towards it.
You don't get points for not dying in a Free For All or Team Deathmatch, so I tend to go a bit mental. _________________

All content is PC. The reason it looks a bit prettier and smoother in motion is due to post processing from the video editing. Motion blur in particular is a very common technique used in frag vids.

I'll look into the retro games. You're right in saying it would be difficult content to find, however once I have my net back up at home I'll see if I can dig up any old school stuff.

Thanks for the kind comments
BF2 is definitely a game with a solid amount of content behind. I do intend on looking into it at some point. There's some hilarious machinima from Battlefield 2 as well, which IMO is a must!

Everyone is different in terms of tactics. Back in my competitive UT2004 days I was one of the most aggressive players, but sometimes I had to relax a little and use that aggression passively and let the opponent drag himself into my shots.
That's essentially how one predicts an opponent in a game with a projectile shot like a rocket in Quake or so: you track your opponent and either predict where he's heading through map knowledge and keeping your ears peeled for powerup pickups, or have him/her chase you, pretty much giving you an open level of prediction because you're manipulating them. As gungho as some FPS games like CoD4 are, it's pretty amazing how much of a mental game there is behind it all too.
Cheers for the feedback, suggestions and comments guys. Keep them coming as I do take it all into account! _________________

Well if we think about FPS scoring wholistically, your KD ratio is moreso taken into account rather than the number of kills, say you get 89 kills but 74 deaths, awesome but I think to see someone with a score of 50 -5 is more impressive, assuming they didn't camp excessively. _________________ xfire = andylulz

Ya know I'd love to see you do an article on Speed Running, it's kinda like the golf to a team deathmatches football. _________________

To me, COD4 takes no skill, thats why I mainly use it to muck around with friends. It is so easy to get kills, most weapons are just ridiculously overpowered, some taking only 2-3 shots to kill. As for No-Scoping, once you know how to abuse the glitch in the engine its easy as hell.
When will we be seeing a UT or TF2 ProMode? Me want.

Guaranteeing there'll be some speed run articles. Absolutely love watching the speed runs and I'll also be looking into the trick jumping scene.

The thing with CoD4 is that its built around pleasing the mainstream more than the hardcore. There is some form of skill in it but you don't require such pinpoint precision like in a lot of other games. There are a lot of impressive shots and such in CoD but when you play the game you can kind of understand how it's fairly possible. Personally I'm not the biggest fan of CoD4, but it's fun and does the job pretty well as a competitive game. Quake on the other hand...
ProMode 3 is UT, TF2 I'm looking into. _________________
