Yeah exactly. That's probably why I liked it . StorminNorman said it was a deconstruction of the magical girl genre, I know what he means now.

I enjoyed Baccano enough to watch it twice. One with subs, once with dub. Its fun, alot more fun when it has the extra episodes. _________________

I enjoyed Baccano!! enough to watch it all in one day, all 16 episodes. I don't do that very often.
You'd be safe with both though since they're both fantastic. _________________

I think Durarara is a better show, but, as fatpizza said, they are both really great (and there's a brief cameo by some Baccano characters in an episode of Durarara).
Durarara went down really well when we screened it at Manifest, too. _________________ Twitter | XBL: Tamaaya | PSN: stormo | GameCentre/Steam: StorminNorman

Out of interest, has anyone heard of Hidan No Aria? I got back into Stepmania recently, downloaded Otaku's Dream 7th anime mix to play around with it and saw three different versions of the opening theme stepped - Scarlet Ballet, which got me interested immediately. Never seen a song stepped more than twice over a number of mixes let alone three times in one mix.
The opening theme sounded pretty good and got me interested. I had a bit of a look around the net to see what Hidan No Aria was about, and thought that I'd post here to check what everybody else thought of it if they've watched it. _________________ Recently Finished: Legend of Heroes - Trails in the Sky (8/10)

I read the light novels (it's still currently going) and I like it, I did watch the anime as well and thought it started interesting but kinda got a bit crap towards the end of the series.
The anime follows the novels a bit but later deviates and does it's own storyline. I heard the anime didn't rate very well, the tv series has ended with no follow up.

Finally getting into Anime and I'm currently watching Paranoia Agent. I'm half way through and am really liking it. I love the dark, mature storyline (if alittle confusing at times) and think the characters are pretty interesting. The animation style is really nice too. _________________

Paranoia Agent is a great anime. Seeing as you like the animation style and theme then it's worth checking out Satoshi Kon's other works. I think you'll love Perfect Blue and Paprika, they're both movies.

Yeah, both of those titles are on my list to watch. I havn't heard to much about Perfect Blue, but have heard alot of great things about Paprika (which sounds really good).
Have you seen Millennium Actress and Tokyo Godfathers? _________________

Perfect Blue is a lot more closer to Paranoia Agent in it's themes. It's my favorite film from Satoshi Kon. It's very similar to Black Swan.
I saw a Millennium Actress ages ago so I can't really remember much of it but I posted my thoughts on Tokyo Godfathers recently.

I recon go for the dub. I don't usually say that, but considering all the regional accents (particularly the sort of boston, italian-american we have all come to expect from the Capone era of gangsters), it actually adds a bit more depth to the performances and the voice actors are decent enough to carry it. _________________

I picked up that triple pack from JB. It comes with Spriggan and Vampire Hunter D too. Tokyo Godfathers I've never seen in Australia.
Isn't Isaac like one of the main characters?

Me too, I'm intrigued by the Steins;Gate universe and the characters that I'd love to play the game. I enjoyed the series a lot and it exceeded my initial expectations.

It was a pretty amazing show, amazing writing and characters. I generally dislike modern animes but this was the glowing exception. _________________
