i just renewed my gold subscription and to my surprise was charged
$79 that's a huge increase but i can't find any info on a price rise any one know anything

12 months of live access has always been $79.95 if you renew through your xbox itself, so I don't know why you say it's gone up.

sorry about not checking the sticky,but it was my first time using my debit card to renew and i assumed it would be around the 50 odd dollar mark that i paid last time as every one seems to equate gold with the $50 cost even aust gamers

You might have purchased a live pack when they were on special as the starter kits at times have been $49 to $69 on sale, but the start packs actually retail for $99.95.
