I'm looking for a game pad for my PC and I was going to pick up an Xbox 360 one, but before I do I thought I'd plumb your depths (ooer) to see if anyone has any better suggestions.
cheers in advance all!

I've owned a few gamepads for PC, without a doubt the most superior is the 360 pads with the wireless receiver. One USB port, 4 wireless 360 pads = emulator awesomeness.
Most cost effective solution anyway - you just own 4 pads for 360, resync them with your PC when you want to play there. Game support is the most comprehensive for the 360 pad anyway. A lot of PC games you'll find will automatically detect it and whack bindings on for you. _________________

+1 for the 360 control + adaptor
-Rumble
-Heaps of buttons to map stuff to
-In built compatibility with some of the recent games, especially console ports.
-Wireless
-Quality
-Multiple controllers can be connected from the one port
-Not too expensive (89.95 rrp is a fairly damn decent price) _________________

ps3 controller. Perfect design for most games. There is a reason the design has not chnaged since the first controller for the first PS.
All you need is a bluetooth dongle or a USB cable to use it...

Nah, I'm really not a fan of the PS controllers.

+1 for 360 PC wireless. Don't waste your money on other pads. This is the best. _________________

better yet if you have a PS3 that can be used in conjunction, the calibration software that comes with these types of things is a bit tacky .
