Bad luck Cro.
Dances the Hawthorn supporters were sort of getting worried over the same reason. They didn't want Buddy kicking his hundreth in a final.

Because we lost last night? I couldn't care less, the only downer is not getting to watch them play until round one now.
I was pretty impressed with the second half performance, some good signs from some of the younger guys. Maguire looked solid and Ray should be a great addition to the half back line if he goes in like that every week. _________________

Farren Ray was not a bad player for the Doggies. I'm a lifelong doggies supporter, and yeah, the guy has potential to be a really handy player. But, he has always needed to bulk up a bit, and his disposal lets him down a bit. When I say a bit, i mean he seems to have a habit of picking up a clanger at the most innoportune moment. Still, good luck to him. He's likely to be a fringe player over there, I think.

St Kilda have high hopes for him and from what I can gather hope he will be in our best 22... Basically they want him to take HBF so Gram can play through the middle. One thing I noticed with him at the Doggies was he wouldn't go in hard enough, sure he would have just got bowled over, but it's still a contest. One of the first things he did on Saturday was put his body over the footy and take a hit. _________________

Don't need the tipping thread being lost now, do we?
Also, is anyone doing Supercoach?

^While I've only played dream team and not Supercoach (But I will start this year) unless the scoring system is very different your team isn't too flash imo.
And take it from a Saints man that Maguire is almost no chance to play every week unfortunately. Anything over minor soreness and he will be rested I think. _________________

Yeah. It's my first time so I'm not expecting much. I especially don't like my backline. Players are horribly overpriced IMO. _________________

I'll have to load it up and have a look see if I can point out some other players, because while Glass and Maguire (when fit) and really good defenders they don't score well in these sort of games. I also didn't know this starting out, but you really don't want those two in your team.
I've also heard mention of Franklin maybe missing the first month, so you potentially having a heap of your cap spent on a few rounds of 0. _________________

With SuperCoach, max points are gathered through goal scorers and contested possessions, which is different from Dream Team which goes around to high possession winners. This being said, traditional backmen who don't get enough of it (like Hudghton) will score lowly in SC than in DT.

This is why I try and pick defenders that play agressively/ rotate through the midfield. Doesn't help much, though, honestly.

Well Geelong have won the NAB Cup in emphatic fashion, belting Collingwood by a whopping 76 points at Telstra Dome on Friday night.
The scores were all square at 23 a piece at quarter time, but Geelong kicked away in the second term, scoring 6 unanswered goals to lead by 40 points at half time. Collingwood took almost a full half of football to score their third goal, which came at the 13 minute mark of the third quarter. But they weren't to stop Geelong as they cruised to a dominant victory.
Joel Selwood won best on ground for the Cats, he picked up 33 disposals and 2 goals in a fantastic performance. Ablett also showed why he is arguably the best player in the league, kicking 3 goals.
GOALS
Geelong: Nine-point goals: Nil Goals: Ablett 3, S. Johnson 3, Selwood 2, Chapman 2, Lonergan 2, Stokes 2, Gamble, Varcoe, Tenace, Bartel
Collingwood: Nine-point goals: Bryan Goals: Thomas 2, Clarke, O'Bree, Beams, Cloke
BEST
Geelong: Selwood, Ablett, Chapman, Taylor, S. Johnson, Bartel
Collingwood: Cox, Thomas, Lockyer, Pendlebury _________________

Pretty annoyed with myself.. Wednesday night I decided I was tipping Freo. Thursday at work I realised this was a stupid idea so I tipped WB at work, but forgot to come back on here and fix my tips.. *sigh.
But on the good side Saints got off to a good start, minus the first quarter. _________________

Could of sworn I tipped Carlton. Aw well. Not too bad I guess. Maybe next week.
On a side note, did ANYONE see Adelaide winning? _________________

I kinda hinted to a mate that I wasn't sold on Collingwood after the NAB GF but he told me I was being too harsh and that it was just 'cause they were up against Geelong. Turns out I was right.
..Yeah he's a Pies fan. I just didn't want to make the bold tip in round one. _________________

Good first week, only missed Adelaide beating collingwood. However, I hate collingwood, so it's all good. Good to see the Doggies beat Freo by 10 goals, too.

I tossed a coin on that game, hate Collingwood but they had form, hate Adelaide but they had emerging talent that had 1 year to consolidate their spots and flourish, and unfortunately it landed on Collingwood.
Rather happy with getting 7 though even if 2 other schmucks did.
This will be the week for the Saints though, if we can pick off Adelaide at AAMI it'd be a much better show than Sydney at Etihadocklandome under lights. Good thing about the win though was that Rooey was ineffectual and we still had the goal scoring potency, going to need him to hold his own against Bock though.
