I wonder if it would be possible to create an image of a fake controller that looks like Australia?

I toyed with the idea before this competition (I was bored a couple of months ago), but ultimately I just fail hard at Adobe Illustrator.

A good logo is one that can be recognised at a small size, so keep that in mind too. That's why logos tend to be simple and one or two colours.
I really like Taco's concept as it ties directly into the issue and is usable in large and small sizes, but it might not be the right thing for the movement's actual logo, but used for news/press releases and other stuff - even kind of a badge that can be used on other's websites. _________________ GAMEparents

It's suposed to be an old mans face on the left and a young kids face on the right.
I guess it needs a bit more work then _________________

Where did this begin? I was playing around with dot graphs, matracies and Venn Diagrams trying to insinuate 'Everyone' - every time I tried I came up with something that looked like it belonged on a tube of rash cream or stamped on an ecstasy tablet. I hate them so you don't get to see them.
Of my own volition, but akin to Segax's solid concept I tried a series of figures. It was working. Initially I had them in colours up the warm end of the spectrum but then decided to shift them to the colours that the OFLC uses on their stickers - nice and bright.
The game controller motif is a bit clunky, and every attempt to make it look like a map of Australia looked, well, gay. For the target audience, I'm not sure a game controller reads universally. Since it has been re-invented by Nintendo the shape of a 'generic controller' has become nebulous. If at all, I think it could be best used as a motif. (included)
So I went with a TV screen shape to insinuate the medium and to group the figures. It also bears a resemblance to the rounded edged ratings stickers. Background colour either a warm or cool grey. Also supplied in grayscale if it makes it onto hard copy. Typeface - Meta Book.
END RATIONALE

I preferd your old one, the silhouette of the controller reads a lot better then the 3D mockup. _________________

I was waiting for dopp's entry...
I really like the last one with no background. It would be easier to work with in regards to the rest of the site design; you could easily incorporate the bright colours from the images.

Awesome stuff dopp. Love it .. how about using an outline of Australia instead of that square TV shape. I would keep the controller as its something that people associate with gaming all around the world. Your idea just gave me another ..

Okay my reasoning ..
I loved dopps entry ... the whole human figure is way more interesting ... so I decided to give them movement.
I experimented with a couple of movements from some games .. though every time I thought of family I ended up with singing games.
Used colors that represented moods in people ..
Tried to incorporate a controller somewhere put looked crap all the time
so yeah thats how I ended up with the logo _________________

WHOA! Segax! Thats more like it!
I think the shilouettes you chose are awesome. I especially like the kung fu and smokin' singstar starlet (nothing sells like sex). The Guitar hero kid is a bit dangerous though (cue jibbs, peveus and another fanfare for the PLA).
My shilouettes are all a bit boring really!
I really like how the kung fu master has his leg breaking through the rectangle. More of this cohesion would make me delerious.
The typography is killing it a bit for me though

i'm glad i'm not the only one who had to double-take on that silhouette before realising it was a guitar neck. _________________

Many thinks great dopp .. your feedback was invaluable ..
Okay some reasoning behind new design
Some figures created a better impact than other so I cut some of them out.
The colors were a bit to bright so I toned them down a bit and I reworked the font to stand out a bit more .
