That's right everyone, according to an official press release issued by Sony Gran Turismo has had it's March Japanese release date revoked and has now been given a release date of: TBA.
I'm honestly starting to wonder what the hell is going on over at Polyphony that has caused their last 2 games (GT5 and GT Psp) to have taken this long to be developed and, in the case of GT Psp, to be such a lackluster effort.

Its really just weird the way they keep building up hype then crushing everyones hopes.
Its going to end badly for them I think as most people by now just seem sick and tired of the whole game Sony are playing.
I for one am pretty sick of it. For all its faults at least Forza 3 is out and Microsoft are pretty consistant with it.
How do you think all these games over GT5 release dates will effect the game when it releases?

I am guessing that a Western release date will be announced at E3, going up directly against Halo:Reach. Gran Turismo 5 is Sony's best weapon for system sales this year, and they will wait until the time is right. Its not like we dont have MAG, Heavy Rain and God of War 3 to play instead. Still pretty annoyed about the delay, but I have been waiting 4 years for this game, I trust Polyphony's track record and can wait another if they need it.

With the massive delays, how can they expect anyone to really care or keep up with this game? I wonder what the hell they're thinking.

Its.. Its.. Oh wait, I don't like the series.
The game looks a bit bland to me anyway, like they're relying solely on the brand name to sell it.

I feel the same way.
I tried that time trial thing from the PS Store and found it boring.
They're adding too much class and it seems to outweigh the fun.
It's starting to feel like you should be playing the game while wearing a suit and tie or some s**t.

i always had problems with controls. i could play nfs no problem but Gt i sucked at it. Gt5 does looks good and has realistic feeling

I'm hopeful that as this delay is for Japan only and it was Japan only that had a release date of March announced that the delay is to have a worldwide release..

Ah one problem with that Sambo. Japan was the only region WITH a release window of any description. Of course it isn't delayed anywhere else, they haven't given us a date to delay.

Yeah I was just going to say, it hasn't been delayed again because it was never given an official released and been delayed after that.
My guess is that the Japan version was pushed back so it could release worldwide in June.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone looked at those closely and thought that the cars within were real. Those look seriously good.
Also, i know this is about 6 weeks late, but about the delays: You almost have to expect it. Polyphony are notorious for lengthy delays. I don't think there's another company as bad for delaying games as polyphony, assuming Duke Forever is never released (because it won't be).

The cars do look that good perhaps better in motion however I guarantee those are from the replay which does bits extra to the picture. I'm going by my experience with prologue so they may look as good know while playing but seeing as how that game will never comes out this is of course moot.

Is it because almost all of the new shots have the lomo vignette (dark edging) along with some depth of field or blur?
The pics sidekick posted all look crisp and clear compared to the new ones.

wow. all those pics look great (blur effect or not).
the lighting, shadows and textures on the third one down posted by afty is great.
this game is going to become the premier racing title the day it's released. the delay is a pain but i'm sure that'll be forgotten pretty quickly.
