one of my mates got married a few years ago, and the musician for when the bride walked up the "aisle" (wasn't in a church, nor was it really laid out with an aisle, but you get the point) was a friend who's a god on the guitar, so he played acoustic for them, and he slipped in several Metallica melodies into the walk. the groom is/was a serious fan, though it apparently wasn't planned this way, but was improvised on the day.
there's something seriously cool about seeing a bride walking to an acoustic version of Nothing Else Matters mixed into whatever else he was playing.
Acoustic Metallica: A whole lot more romantic sounding than you might think. _________________

one of my mates, who happens to be married to kate miller-heidke and is her guitarist - used to have a gig in a small coffee lounge, he would slip in some morbid angel and metallica there also, it is quite weird how they do actually suit acoustic sets like that. _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. i guess i forgot the best bit.
the guitarist in question was on our table for the meal, as we were one of the friends of the couple, rather than family, so we knew what the go was, but it was awesome hearing oldie after oldie come up and say how much they liked that lovely set he performed.
if they only knew... _________________

I quickly jumped out the shower, but the thing jumped on my leg, I started to kick my leg about, but the damn thing wouldn't come off. So I freaked out, just a bit. I ran out the bathroom, soaking wet and completely naked, wacked the spider off my leg, squashed it, then much to my suprise, my Parents were sitting down watching TV.

Something very similar happened to me a few years ago...
It was after a shower. I had finished drying myself off and slung the towel over my shoulder. I noticed something dark out of the corner of my eye and when I turned my head, I saw the biggest, hairiest spider you have ever seen* glaring right back at me. What was even worse was that it was in that threatening pose, you know, the 'I'm going to bite you now' stance that spiders do, when they go back on their hind legs and bare their fangs. ON MY FREAKING SHOULDER.
Actually, the worst worst part of it was that the spider was on the towel as I was drying myself off so it's no wonder it was pissed. I threw the towel down with the godly force and leapt out of the shower faster than humanly possible.
That encounter still gives me the shivers to this day.
And it didn't make me smile.
Btw, this wasn't the only close encounter I've had with a spider. I've got at least 3 more that haunt me to this day.
*possible exaggeration. When it was that close to you, it might has well have been. It did look pretty nasty though. _________________

Some customers make the totally the freaking opposite of smile!
Here's the kinda stuff retail staff get to deal with...
Customer: I want the psp-3000 lego bundle.
Me: Rightio, its $309 and comes with a free accessory pack - so basically for an extra $10 you get a $50 game and $20 accessory kit. Winner right?!
CUstomer: Well i went to EB and they said they'd match whatever you do. So can you beat them?
Me: Nope.
Customer: *looks confused*
Me: Well if we make a deal here and u go there to match it then technically i can never beat you - hell i could give it all to you for $1 and you could go there and match it - still i haven't actually beat them!
Customer: Well do me a better price.
Me: Well the price is pretty darn good - if it's more than you want to pay try EB and see how much it is there. No one in the center is doing it cheaper and they are selling like hotcakes so I can't really discount it...
Customer: I'll go back to them and see what they are offering.
Me: They don't offer anything mate - they won't beat us.
Anywho about 3 hours of my shift wasted dealing with this guy he ends up buying it for $309 - seriously what the freaking hell. In between it all he went to EB 3 separate times, hell if he didn't keep bailing over to them i may of looked after him price wise...
Couldn't help but smile at the end tho, i 'lawyered' him good! _________________ Kill each other nicely please.

Was in EB today trading a copy of Fable 2 when I noticed they reduced the price of it to $79.
Almost laughed out loud that for the first time ever they where offering more to buy the game than they where selling it for.
In the end with the Edge card I got about $95 credit, so that was priceless!!! _________________

A few years ago I fealt something prickly in my sock. I thought was just a stick or something but when I took it off a massive huntsman crawled out. Thank god it was something harmless, but still, scared the hell out of me. _________________

What competition did you win it in? Either way it's a pretty damn good camera.

I actually had SLR camera training today for upteenth time, hosted by Sony, Olympus, Nikon and Canon.
So, for me it was just another training session where I hear everything, once again. But, this time I was one of the only ones to answer the 'quiz' correctly, the camera being my prize. Only issue is it isn't a IS kit, but regardless I can't complain.

Aren't they quite rare to see? I would bloody love to see that in my garden.
And speaking of cool things in the garden, I found a Bob Tail. Maybe not the coolest thing to aussies, but I was born and lived in Britian for 11 years, there are no lizards there, though they do have a native worm that is rare to see
I love living in Australia, so many cool animals to see.
