Kain and Raziel are both great, also *lil bit o a spoiler* Kain ain't a bad guy
and this guy is Awesome too
and best sidekick ever
(Monkey Island is the game btw)

The thread is fine, but the rating of the characters isn't necessary. Also, please have a read of the forum rules. I'm assuming you haven't because there's an important bit there about using the Edit button on previous posts so that you don't have 3 in a row within the space of a few minutes.

manny calavera stands out as an awesome character to me
guybrush threepwood also has a lot of personality as a main character.
side characters to note are - rude (ff7), murray the evil skull, the purple tentacle

This guy.
As many know I had him as an av/sig set for years, and my email is even based off him. Raziel has always been a favourite character, but Kain is his equal IMO. I mean, who chooses to save themselves and condemn the world to hell instead of sacrificing themselves for the greater good (though that 'greater good' is questionable anyway. If you know the story, you get it)? Amazing anti-hero and Simon Templeman is the only guy who can pull Kain off.
Ah and also:
Wander is such a close second.

My favourite character: 
Although there are heaps of others, including Sam and Max, Raziel and Kain (I love the whole blend of the story of fate, the vampires and the soul reaver) and some other badass protagonists I can't remember at the moment.
