Is anyone else getting this game? It looks to be another essential DS purchase for me. It's a fresh take on the RPG. Set in modern day Tokyo. It has a great art style and music. And essentially using both screens at once to battle enemies with your two characters - using the d-pad for the top and touch for the bottom, sounds crazy, but apparently it works! Add to that endless customisations and we're cooking!
It comes out very soon, and adds yet another game to the play list.
IGN recently did their review - 9.0

I've been keeping an eye on this since it was first announced and after seeing the 1UP show review I ordered it right away. Theres something about funky stylish Japanese games that I just can't get enough of. The art style in this game just looks superb and the music, oh man the music sounds good. In a way it reminds of Jet Set Radio, Awesome art style, kicking soundtrack, unique game play and even a similar setting.
The only thing that worries me is wither or not I'm going to be able to control the 2 characters at once, though it seems you can stick the 2nd one on an auto-pilot mode. I'm sure it'll be manageable once you get use to it. Can't wait to get my hands on it, which should hopefully be tomorrow or early nest week _________________

Yeah I'll pick this one up, only problem was the dialogue so far "I'm digging it *30". Other than that this game looks great.

This game is a definite purchase for me (see avatar). I got interested when the Japanese version was first released and I've been patiently waiting for the English localization.
I've heard that it makes better use of all the DS functions compared to many other games out on the market. My only worry is that the music might get annoying after awhile

This game is awesome! Definitely going to buy this. A friend of mine got it early through some... unfashionable way... and I played a bit of it.
Controlling both characters at once is a bit confusing at first as you have to watch both screens... but once you find that style that suits you its awesome! _________________

I'll be picking this up for sure, always good to see Square-Enix trying something new. The game really turned out well. I think I'll get it after I get Mario Kart Wii next Thursday. _________________

Make that "extremely rare to see..." and it's more true
I'm hyped for this one, the art is good and the gameplay actually sounds interesting. Apparently fashion effects your stats! The Dual-screen combat is also pretty interesting if they can pull that off. _________________ Playing: 30sec Hero, Scribblenauts, Dungeon Crawl

I remember seeing something on this game a few months ago and the art style alone caught my attention. After watching that 1up review, I'm much more interested now.
The dual control layout does seem a bit convoluted though, and I've heard of issues with repetitive voice samples. If there's one thing that my time playing 'Exit' has shown me, repetitive voice bytes can completely destroy a game for me. _________________

Its interesting that the pre-release hype for this all referrenced the same team making GBA Kingdom hearts, but seemed to avoid references to their also making spectrobes _________________

Well, yeah, Kingdom Hearts is more popular, so they would boast about that more then a poor Pokemon ripoff. WayFoward made Contra 4 but they also made Ping Pals, what's going on their resume? _________________

I was so disappointed. I've been waiting for this game for quite a while, but for some reason all of the shops around here believe it wont be available for a week ... I guess that's the problem with living in a country town but a week is really pushing it, I think.

Got my copy in the mail today and sunk a couple of hours into it. So far I'm loving the art style, music and presentation. Cut scenes are really well done so far and theres even a very cool anime -style intro early in the game. Music is some of the best I've heard coming out of the DS, it's awesome they've managed to get songs with vocals playing even with the actions happening in battles. Theres even a little voice acting in some parts
As for the game play theres a lot to take in at the start of the game but I'm slowly wrapping my head around all the different aspects of the game. Battles are really fun so far, controling both characters in a bit tough but you can set the 2nd character to full auto, auto after 6 seconds of no inputs or 3 seconds no inputs (or full manual if your crazy enough). Pulling off moves is as simple as doing different actions with the styles, some are slashes, taps or upwards flicks and I've had no trouble pulling any of them off.
Story wise it's been quite interesting early on, a little confusing but interesting non the less. Main character seem like a bit of a dick so far but the others have been mostly likable. Seems like theres a lot to the game so hopefully the main character will become more likable as the game progresses. _________________

^Yeah it came out late last week, got my copy from DVDcrave.
$55 at Toys"R"Us is a good price and I highly recommend it to people as I'm in love with the game (if you can't tell by the new sig and avatar ) _________________

I haven't been able to find it anywhere! Every store I've visited around where I live have either, "never heard of it," believe "it should be in sometime soon," say they've "heard of it, but is not sure when it will be available" or variations of all the above. It's quite frustrating. I don't have any other way to get games currently.
Anyway, just thought I'd vent a bit.

That sucks Mantheus. Is there any way you can order the game online? That seems like the only solution in this situation.
If it's any compilation, I finally got the game yesterday. The story is out there, the characters are interesting, I'm getting used to the battles, but it's fun, the style is ace, the music is wild, a whole lot is great.
I've already done the first 2 chapters. They were quite short consisting of "60 minutes" to do the mission. But the 3rd mission timelimit is "360 minutes", so it's good that it takes longer. There is at least 7 chapters. But there are probably more, am I right? _________________

Theres plenty more then 7 chapters, don't worry . It's a pretty long game it seems. I'm up to what I'd call the "3rd Act" and I'm still not sure if I'm near the end or not. Though I still have 2 spots I need to unlock on the start menu (the one where you can choses pins/items ect.) so I guess I still have a decent amount left to do in the game.
Mantheus, your best bet is to check out JB for the game. Don't know where in Vic you are but I've seen it at both the Knox and Eastland stores in the last week and for $59 too which isn't a bad price
And finally I got my copy of the soundtrack the other day, listening to it as I type this. The songs sound great on CD and at 35 tracks theres a lot of em _________________

^ There's more to the game, don't worry about that
I was going to rave about how awesome and deep this game is, but the Penny Arcade guys have done my job for me, just go see the last few posts there for a little taste of how many touches they jammed into this one, it's kinda amazing. My only beef is that I have no one to Mingle with, so I'm slightly limited in what pins I can get. _________________ Playing: 30sec Hero, Scribblenauts, Dungeon Crawl

I'm going to give this game a try mostly for the take on gameplay, which looks too interesting to miss. Outside of that though, I do not like JRPGs and I hate playing as a kid / teenager, so hopefully I can look past those things and enjoy the game. _________________

I haven't been this fed up with a main character this early into the game since I played FFX. However, just about everyone and their dog tells me it gets better, so I'll soldier on. So far the battling is cool, but I'm not sure I can adjust to the dual screen battles. It's confusing and I honestly can't multitask to save myself. _________________

I have never actually ordered something online myself before. It might sound silly, but I'm not even sure what I'm meant to do. I don't have a credit card or a debit card or anything, so I guess it is out of the question.

Have you tried Dungeon Crawl in Melbourne CBD? Haven't been there myself, but from what I understand they're likely to have the game. _________________

Thank you, everyone.
I'm way too far out of Melbourne to even consider going anywhere near it, unfortunately.
I'll check out Play Asia, though, thank you. I've never really been there to have a look, so hopefully it will all work out. I really want this game!
